Îmi face plăcere să revin în acest loc, care găzduiește o opera de artă cu temă acvatica, atât de potrivită pentru un oraș aflat pe malul Dunării. Grupul statuar este realizat de celebrul artist Constantin Baraschi,cu studii în Franța. Academicianul Constantin Baraschi a fost și rector la Institutul de Arte Plastice din București. Este singurul sculptor român care a scris un tratat de sculptură . De-a lungul carierei artistice, plasticianul a participat la numeroase expoziții în țară și peste hotare, fiind distins cu:
Medalia de Aur, la expoziția internațională de la Paris (1937),
Premiul Academiei Române pentru sculptură (1938),
Medalia de Argint pentru sculptură „Sfântul Gheorghe” (1940),
Titlul „Maestru emerit al artei” (1951).
Deci acesta este autorul operei botezată de localnici Nespălata. Un loc de întâlnire.
