It was my first time ever surfing and I couldn't ask for a better experience. I enjoyed every minutes of the group lesson. The beach in front of the school is very large and there was much space for everyone. The teacher was very kind and prepared, always encouraging us to take the waves and giving feedbacks.
Definitely suggested!

My daughter and I came to MAR Surf school by chance, we have never been surfing before and we had such a great time here. Everybody was so friendly, it was such fun learning to surf!

Had my first 3 surfing lessons with João and André at MAR Surf School and enjoyed every one them 100%! Both João and André are excellent teachers with a strong passion for surfing and coaching others. Me and my wife got many valuable tips on how to start surfing in a safe and enjoyable way.

João is a great instructor who responds to the individual needs of his students. He made me feel comfortable at all times. He explains everything calmly and provides a lot of fun. I can highly recommend this surf school for many reasons. It is individually attuned to the participants and time is taken. The groups are not too large, which means you feel very safe and perfectly cared for during the surf lesson in the water. The staff are all very warm and give you lots of tips and motivate you. Price-performance ratio is not to be surpassed. I will book more lessons in Mar surf school for sure and recommend it to everyone that is interested in learning how to surf! ☺ thanks for that experience!

If you want to learn surfing (or advance your current technique), Mar Surf School is definitely the place to be! Lessons are being given in small groups, with a lot of attention to your individual needs. This makes you feel safe and the on-point tips and tricks make it possible to advance quickly. Communication runs always smooth and João is the best teacher! Highly recommend!

I had a pleasure to take a few classes with João and I had a great time! Not only is he a very skilled and patient teacher who adapts his methods to an individual student, but most of all he's a great, chilled guy whose passion for surfing is extremely contagious. Regardless of your level, if you want to get better at surfing - João is the man!

It was my first try, João is a very good instructor. Short specific information, warm up, small exercise before entering to the water. In the water he was all the time close to me, been helpful and supportive! All the time was checking on me, if I’m ok, if I’m tired or not, that was very nice, I felt me completely safe close to him! Thank you, João! Will be back on classes with you ;)

This is the best surf school at Costa da Caparica 👍🏼 I have tried many of schools at this beach but this is defently the one to go with.

João is so great explaining and teaching what you should do (and also very patient). He dont over book the classes so you always will have a space to practise and he has the time to check with everyone how they are doing.

With his classes there is great mind set to have fun and enjoy the ocean. It is not to much focused on execution of tecnique or etc but you still get everytime very high quality teaching and knowlege about surfing. I have seen him handeling very well a group with beginers and more experiend surfers and I am sure everyone got a great class.

I strongly recommend Mar Surf School. João is a great teacher, patient, motivating, giving great tips, also very serious about security, and his organisation/communication is very smooth. Small groups, which is pleasant and good for learning. The location is great, lovely beach :) and nice restaurants near by for after the surfing.
