Great place for food. I'm vegetarian and just asked Alexander to just cook whatever he had, no meat no fish. Had a basic but delicious meal, tasty dessert and some very pleasant red wine. But the service was supurb and made the experience even better. Five well deserved stars.

We had a wonderful meal here with family and the waiter Alex was funny and welcoming! The chicken was great and so were the refilled squid! The beer is delicious and the veggies and soup very good too! Also you can’t go wrong with any of the meat dishes. Very generous portions and staff! Excellent choice!

We found this restaurant on TripAdvisor, so we wandered into it without much knowledge. The host and server, Alexandro, was totally kind and helpful. He made great suggestions. The food was exactly as I asked for it. The dourade was beautifully done, very tasty. The table was cozy and comfy, and the bathroom was squeaky clean. We highly recommend this restaurant. Great restaurant with attentive service and tasty traditional Portuguese dishes. Served by Alexander who was a welcoming and hilarious individual who make us feel at home. Big portions, quick service, highly reccomend!

Excellent quality/price ratio. Delicious meals such as Rice with duck and cod fish with amazing home-made desserts. Alejandro is the perfect host and will make your stay a wonderful experience

We are italians but i'm writing in english in order to help all those travelers seeking a good place to eat in portoalegre.
We went to "O poeiras" on Sunday 11th, August 2019.
We had a lunch composed of appetizers (fresh cheese, bread and olives), which in total cost 3€,
Grilled tuna, 22.50€ for three portions (7.50€ each), water, coke, two coffes for a total of 30.50€
We were 3 so we basically spent 10€ each to have lunch, which is incredibily cheap.
Good value for money, I do believe that part of our lunch was made of hand-made products.
Talking about the place I can say that it's cozy, comfortable, it gives you the idea of eating in the living room of a house, which I appreciated, i felt home.
Our waiter (I think he could also be the owner), whose name is Alessandro was very nice with us, since se hardly speak portoghese, he managed to explain us the menu speaking italian and english
He is friendly and charming.
Definitely "O poeiras" is a very good place to have a meal!

Ainda que com todas as contingências e cuidados a que a pandemia obriga a ter, fomos recebidos com uma enorme simpatia por todos, especialmente pelo Amigo Alexandre. Foi em cima da hora de almoço, mas ainda assim envidou todos os esforços para nos receber.
Desde as entradas, aos pratos principais e sobremesas, estava tudo óptimo. Excelente qualidade nos produtos servidos, que nos deliciaram e, que nos proporcionaram momentos que iremos sempre recordar.
Não podia deixar de falar na cerveja “Velhaca” que nos acompanhou na refeição, e que foi essa mesmo, que nos levou até vós.
A simpatia, cuidado e atenção foram permanentes desde a nossa chegada, até à nossa saída. Muito Obrigada

Adorei ir nesse restaurante, o Sr. Alexandre é a alma do restaurante, a simpatia e o acolhimento e a comida deliciosa, bem confeccionada com ótimas porções. Sem dúvida que todas as vezes que for a Portalegre será meu restaurante de eleição.

Boa comida, atendimento muito simpático pelo Sr. Alexandre, preço aceitável para a refeição que fizemos. Na próxima viagem a Portalegre voltarei de certeza a esta casa.
