Casa Azul Belgica

I stayed at Ronald's place for a few weeks in August / September 2021. The house and the garden are very spacious and each of the 4 large guest bedrooms on the first floor have a double bed, a small desk and enough storage place for clothes. A short driveway through the front garden leads from the road to the house. Also, there is a beautiful private garden with a small swimming pool in the garden at the back of the house as well as a little area with a vegetable garden and a lemon and clementine tree.

The ground floor kitchen and living room are shared between the guests and Ronald. He is a great and helpful host with a passion for cooking and enjoying life who will make everyone feel at home. Ronald’s dog, Rex, is very playful and sweet and stays on the ground floor living room (and garden) only, he does not go into the kitchen or up to the bedrooms on the first floor.

There is a good WiFi connection in all the rooms and I was able to work from the desk in my room without any issues. Strong and stable internet connection.

In the area around Fiscal there are plenty of things to do and places to visit. I especially enjoyed hiking and cycling through the adjacent little towns or in the beautiful Parque Nacional Peneda-Gerês. The beautiful little towns of Ponte da Barca and Ponte de Lima as well as the big city of Braga are only a short drive away. Braga is well connected to the rest of the area and country by rail and road.

Perfect location for lodging if you want to explore the North of Portugal! Ronald has created a home with a relaxed vibe. His house has 4 large bedrooms, a nice terrace and lovely garden with small swimmingpool. Ronald has explored all of the restaurants and bars in the neighbourhood and can give perfect advice. We really enjoyed our stay in his Casa Azul!

I stayed with Ronald for one week and it was wonderful. The home is large, with a nice kitchen and beautiful garden. Sitting outside at sunset was super peaceful. The house is close to Braga, so there is a good balance of quiet solitude, and shopping and activities in the city. I can’t wait to return.

Ronald's house is perfect for a great holiday in Northern Portugal!
The Peneda-Geres National Park, the great Atlantic beaches, the city of Porto, and some other attractive cities and markets are only an hour's drive away. So we did something different every day, and enjoyed the evening sun on the terrace in Casa Azul Belgica with Ronald and Rex.
In addition to these "hot spots", Ronald also has a lot of tips for excursions in the surrounding area.
Besides, he knows the best bars & cafés, the best restaurants (we especially recommend Restaurante Vale do Homem!) and the best supermarkets, and he also is the perfect host if you want to eat "at home".
The two of us had a spacious room on the first floor with a toilet and shower in the corridor. The entire house is very well equipped and everything is in top condition.
We plan to go back to Fiskal next summer.

We spent in Casa Azul Belgica wonderful two weeks. It was our first visit of Portugal. Our host Ronald and his young dog Rex were part of our program almost daily. He showed us perfect restaurants, cafes, recommended many places to visit (perfect sea and river beaches, nice towns nearby, their markets or fortess and so on.) We cooked together, when we wanted, listened music on garden, swimmed in his pool. We have only positive experiences from whole portugal visit!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Casa Azul Belgica for a couple of days, visiting our friend and host Ronald at the start of April 2022.

We had a warm welcome from our easy-going host with a nice cocktail to start our short holiday. The cute house in traditional blue with lovely garden looks fresh and inviting. I'm sure a bit later in the year, as it gets less chilly, ideal to have lazy afternoons in the sun and late nights outside gazing at the stars with a nice wine of the region.

The bedrooms are spacious, clean and have plenty of storage space. There is a good shower in the bathroom to start the day.
The small kitchen is to your disposal to cook your own breakfast and diner.

Visitors must love dogs! Rex is very much part of the family.

During our short visit, we enjoyed visiting the old towns of Guimaraes, and Braga. Together with our host, we made a trip by car through the impressive National park Peneda-Gerês. I'd love to go hiking there and take Rex with me for the day!
