The Veal is one of the best meals I have ever had. Very friendly people.
Sadly, I selected a seat that did not give a view of the rustic kitchen. I would recommend you come and eat here.

Authentic portuguese restaurant recommended to us by our hotel. Food was indeed perfect! Grilled veal was so tender; octopus was well-charred. I'm not usually a fan of roasted potatoes but theirs was soft and infused with so much garlic flavour.. simply appetising! Staff was v welcoming though he spoke limited English. But not to worry, menu had English. Don't forget to have the starter bread with olives - best we've eaten in Portugal thus far!

It’s a perfect spot. Ideal view. Quiet. Delicious food and superb service. Honestly, I can’t believe more people haven’t found this place. Ok, paella might be Spanish but the seafood is local. Best meal so far. The owners are lovely. Try it out!

Liked a home-cooked Portuguese meal. This was the most authentic meal we had in Portugal. Not sure how I found this place, but absolutely loved it. The manager was super nice and this food was just amazing. Very affordable. Mostly locals. Also loved the draft Heineken

A very traditional restaurant with lovely, hearty dishes. We had two different kinds of meat and they were both delicious! I love these humble places that don’t look fancy at all.

Tasty traditional dishes made in a traditional oven. The bread made in-house is great and worth paying the couvert. Good meats, seafood, wine, service. Would go back.

What a hidden gem! Was told about it by our lovely receptionist in our hotel.
We stayed in Coimbra centre, so we had to take a taxi to this restaurant (€7), but it was well worth it. Lovely staff, delicious, local cuisine. We had to go again few days later, it was do good!

This really is an amazing restaurant! The staff was very friendly, the atmosphere on point and the food... I have never had beter fish in my entire life (Bacalhau).
The liquor after the food was great as well, in total a great experience!

Excellent traditional food and excellent service. If you can sit facing the kitchen you can see the chef using the stone oven and open grill. Would definitely eat there again!

We literally stumbled across this delightful place one evening when have a brief stop-over in Coimbra. The food was amazing and the red wine even better. The meat is cooked over charcoals and the flavours were amazing.

Excellent food, great service. My husband had grilled veal with onion and I had roasted kid in the wood-fired oven and we absolutely loved both meals. A bit expensive though for this part of the world

The best Restaurant in Coimbra for traditional Portuguese food. They have a fire wood oven where they cook amazing Cabrito (roasted kid); make sure to try the Posta (char grilled sirloin steak) or the Polvo (char grilled octopus). For dessert: Leite creme or Crepe Taberna! It's a classic and a must in Coimbra!

Awesome food and service. Starters were very good, main course was wonderfully cooked. Deserts are also delicious. Stuff is very nice and helpful. For sure I will come back here :)

The food is great and the place is very quiet and reserved. Definitely one of the best places to eat traditional Portuguese food in Coimbra. The prices are above average but not overpriced for what you get.

Really good food in a typical Portuguese place. Order something from the wood oven, it is one of the few places were they still do it the old way. The grilled food was also good and grilled over real wood fire.

In this lovely and cozy restaurant you can find the best local and traditional food, any of the main house dishes is absolutely astonishing, I vividly recommend it! The staff also very nice, some remain faithful to the house for decades.
