A Lagosta Perdida

During our trip through tràs-os-montes, we met this terrific place... The life goes slow in Montesihno, a small rural village made of stone houses and a laconic atmosphere. If you're looking for silence and nature this is a perfect place in off season. Lagosta perdida is the only place where you can sleep and have a dinner in the village, it's a big old rural stone house, beautifully restored by Robert and his family, the sharing spaces are original with the old stones and wood beams all around, the fireplace, the dining room with the big windows overlooking the old porch and the nature. The rooms are really comfortable and hot during the fall, when we stayed.
Robert and his son were so kind and we had interesting conversations in front of the fireplace. There's always good music spread in the house, that i loved due to my old job of sound designer. We had the opportunity to do beautiful hikes, and the dinners were great when we came back.

What can I say? Robert the owner is a FANTASTIC host, so kind and interesting, super professional and not only a "Jack of All Trades", but in fact a master, the dinner was a feast, the music was nice, the hotel is very well looked after, it's also truly refreshing and inspiring to see someone take so much pride in their work. Onto the hotel itself, the building, it's been beautifully restored maintaining all the cool features of the historical architecture while still having a nice level of comfort. The WiFi could be a little better, if anyone from the hotel is reading this, take a look at TP-Link Mesh WiFi sets, they're inexpensive and would make it perfect, still the WiFi, especially for this type of Rural Accommodation is by no means bad, in fact I'd say it's rather good.

The village itself feels like a medieval time capsule, at least for a somewhat Urbanite like myself, it's amazing, it's so tiny, with only 35 permanent residents, and cute.

Lovely house with wonderful rooms. The pool area in the back is wonderful.
The host, Robert, is friendly, helpful and a good cook. The breakfast is simple and filling and dinners are feasts.
Rob wet has an extensive library of maps and can offer lots of advice on hiking in the region.

If you enjoy walking in great scenery it's well worth a few days staying here. Very relaxing, we were well looked after.

The hotel is owned by my friend Sean's parents. I had my best holiday here. Highly recommend this hotel to travelers who want to experience Portuguese countryside!

Un lugar encantador perdido en las montañas de Portugal regentado por una persona encantadora y muy atenta siempre preocupado por nuestra comodidad. Desconexión total y plena naturaleza (lobos, ciervos, jabalís), habitaciones amplias y cálidas y comidas abundantes, caseras y típicas de la zona regadas con buen vino del Douro. Los niños se lo pasaron tan bien jugando con los gatitos y sentados en la chimenea que no querían salir. Toda una experiencia.

Una experiencia única, especial y superando todas las expectativas, un trato directo con una calidad humana impresionante. Muy recomendable, una cocina muy buena, ensalzo todo lo que he probado.

Lugar fantástico, con gente fantástica. Está en una aldea maravillosa, el hotel es precioso, tranquilo, muy familiar, en todo momento preocupados por nuestro bienestar. La comida exquisita y abundante, así como el desayuno. La piscina fenomenal. La habitación enorme. Fuimos con niños y siempre estuvieron pendientes de que todo estuviera bien. Coincidió que había un concierto de música clásica y fue maravilloso. La pena es haber ido tan poco tiempo. Os super recomiendo!! Aún no recuerdo como encontré este lugar, pero ha sido una de las mejores experiencias en viajes que he realizado.

La carretera que lleva a Montecinho es sinuosa y al mismo tiempo muy bonita.
Al llegar al pequeño pueblo, encontramos La Langosta Perdida. Con google maps no tiene pérdida.

Robert, el dueño, nos atendió a nuestra llegada y nos indicó dónde podíamos aparcar nuestro coche.

Estuvimos en la piscina, disfrutando de la tranquilidad y calma del lugar.

La cena está incluida y es muy buena idea ya que no hay ningún restaurante donde pudiéramos cenar.
Cena sencilla y muy sabrosa. Acompañada de un buen Ribera do Douro.

El desayuno muy rico. Con zumo de naranja natural, café espresso, tostadas, croissant, yogur, cereales y fruta.

Lastima que solo pudiéramos estar una noche porque el lugar invita a estar más tiempo y Robert y su familia hacen que la estancia sea como estar en tu propia casa.

Excelente Hotel rural, con mucho encanto y agradable. Espectacular el trato de los dueños. El desayuno y la cena inmejorables. El secreto es el cariño y la atención de los propietarios. Muy recomendable para descansar y disfrutar del entorno natural.

Un sitio en el que te sientes como en casa. El propietario, Robert, hace que tu estancia sea agradable con su simpatía y profesionalidad. La casa está en un pueblo precioso, un lugar tranquilo donde descansar. Las habitaciones son amplias, muy cómodas y limpias. Tanto los desayunos como las cenas deliciosos y muy saludables.

UN MAGNÍFICO LUGAR PARA PERDERSE, alejado del jaleo del turismo masivo en un pequeña de paso entre Sanabria y Braganza es una aldea junto a la frontera. Una antigua vivienda con mucho encanto y con todas las comodidades necesarias. Tienes la sensación de estar como en casa gracias el trato y la amabilidad que nos dispensó Robert y su hijo. En nuestra corta estancia pudimos disfrutar de una cena bajo la lluvia luna de un cielo claro, descansar cómodamente, jugar al ping-pong, bañarnos es la piscina y subir al embalse.
