The owner is an elderly man. he speaks english quite well and is very friendly, not only that he is also very charismatic and nice.
the food was very delicious, and the desert was even better. like many others have said the wine was very good.
he went out of his way to make sure that everything was provided for us and that everything was good. he also told us about some of the food here and how he acquires the ingredients semi-localy.
and the atmosphere is very nice as well. we sat outside in the bice and warm sun, there was also slight breeze as well as gentle music playing from the Café.

An absolutely delightful evening with exceptional food and incredible personal service. Each meal is prepared based on available ingredients and Ze the owner is very, very fussy with his selections. By the way, he is not elderly, in fact he’s younger than me and I’m not elderly either.

This cafe is a little gem! Cosy rustic atmosphere, good music and very friendly owners who went above and beyond to give us a great experience. The food was very good and we tried some authentic Portuguese food. The owners speak Spanish, French and English as well as Portuguese.

Amazing food, the best gambas we have ever tried! We found this place by chance in a trip to Montemor o Velho and we were delighted with the food and the kindness of the owners. It’s worth a trip just to try the Gambas a la Crema!

The owner and his wife were friendly and also spoke English. He took pride in the tapas he served, and rightly so as it was delicious. Well worth visiting and the opening hours were a boon when many other places were closed.

The castle of Montemor-o-Velho brought us to this unexpected, unforgettable time of our travels in Portugal. Jose & Telma welcome you in like family. They put love into the food prepared as well as those that come to enjoy.

This place was amazing. At first we just stopped for a coffee but then we decided to stay for lunch. The proprietor was a charming Portuguese man who was so welcoming and friendly. He ended up cooking us a salad bacalho which he warned us would take about 40 minutes as he had to cook it from scratch. He totally managed our expectations and it was absolutely worth waiting for. We had such a lovely lunch there, it was leisurely and we felt so well looked after - thank you

An excellent restaurant with fantastic local fish and meat dishes served with great wine. Friendly and welcoming service. English spoken. Definitely a place to eat at again and again.

This place is a must visit if you are in central Portugal. Jose and Thelma are very friendly and welcoming. Jose is very knowledgeable about food and wine and takes great pride in preparing unique and delicious food.

Lovely food, nice spot in the square, sometimes music is played on piano. Excellent sangria. Nice home cooked dishes. Very friendly owner.
