Having lunch here was the best choice of my stay in Coimbra! I arrived on a rainy day in October and sat inside. The place is quite small, but the atmosphere is cozy and the service very friendly. I ordered the local specialy Chanfana (a goat stew) that comes with potatoes and spinach as a side and it was so delicious. I fell in love with the rich flavor of the broth and the meat was so tender it came easily off the bone. The price is similar to other restaurants in Coimbra and the portions are very generous, I almost coundn't finish it. Definitely recommended!

We both had the Chanfana (goat stew) which comes in a hot cauldron. An excellent red, Vinha de Foz from the Douro Valley. Service was friendly and efficient.
Cute cantina atmosphere off a small plaza. **Only cash**

Fantastic experience, food was amazing and pretty cheap. Staff are extremely accommodating and despite not having an English menu are happy to translate for you. My favorite dinner spot in Coimbra

Such a lovely place! Highly recommend for meals here. Had dinner here. Wonderful host and great service. Nice ambience, very cosy and warm.

Good food. The char grill chorizo (starter) is a must! We had the beef steak, what a big portion for us! The house wine is very nice.

We had a nice meal here, menu are all in Portuguese. The location convenient and on the flat and restaurant is very cute.

We ordered tuna tartare, octopus rice, salad, cod in cream and Chanfana. They’re all delicious!

Chanfana could be very salty.

Came for the famous Chanfana and it was beyond perfection! A small little jem with tables outside with an amazing local kind staff, very welcoming and the food, wow, the Chanfana was so good! The homemade olives in garlic and the better before getting the main dish was also great, a classic authentic local cuisine at it’s best. Obrigado

This restaurant had great staff and great atmosphere. The pork made with red wine was simply amazing. Crunchy on the outside and just literally melted in your mouth. The grilled octopus is also mouth watering

One of the best meals we’ve had in Portugal. The chanfana (goat) dish was so delicious. The meat fell right off the bones and the sauce was so flavorful. Everything we tried was fantastic.

We spent our holiday hunting for a proper steak, and after discussing steaks in a bar with one of the chefs we went here for our last evening meal in Coimbra. The food was amazing and well worth a visit, as you can tell from the pictures.
Thank you for a great meal to remember our holiday by.

I were lucky to get a table without reservation but i were there early at 7 for dinner. Only 2 tables haven't been reserved! The Espada fish, creamy fish soup and tiramisu cake are all delicious! The portion is quite big each dishes. This meal makes me happy :)

The meal deserves a PhD.
The scholars in the kitchen serve a thesis in Portuguese cooking.
Take your time enjoy a glass of whatever exquisite wine they serve and prepare yourself to receive an "honoris causa" in comfort food.

Watched our maître d'/writer/bartender (yes, he was working that hard) with amazement he quickly took other table’s orders and came to ours with an excellent wine recommendation to go with our plates of creamy cod and fabulous chanfana.

Great cozy restaurant, good service and wonderful food. I had the Chanfana, (pictured below) which is goat cooked in a clay pot with a glass of recommended house red wine, dessert was an almond pie with vanilla ice cream
