Veterinary Services

My name is Ash, If you value your pets life as much as I do, then you will read this. As the Lord God is my witness, it is NOT my intention to say anything bad about any other doctor, so I will refrain from using any names. However, I will tell you that If Dr. Paulo Sousa DVM, Director Clínico Zoosaúde Serviços Veterinários did not have compassion on an old man, I would be devastated as my Dog would be dead by now. Please read this.

Approximately 30 days ago, my dog, a labrador, started having internal bleeding. I took him to a Local vet in Miranda Do Corvo. The lady gave me antibiotics and told me she would be returning in September as she was going on vacation. Three days later, I urgently reached her to let her know my dog was getting worse. She told me to go to a clinic and see a Doctor who works in her office. I did. He changed the medication and gave me additional medication and told me that I should do it. Three days later, I rushed him back to the same doctor who checked him out and said, THIS IS BEYOUND our capability and for me to take him to University Hospital in Coimbra, which I did. On August 17th I arrived at the hospital and was there for almost seven hours. Blood test, stool test, Ultrasound and on and on and on. I was given some more medication. I left. Then on August 30, I went back to the same hospital again, as the initial drs office in Miranda Do Corvo did not want to help me, as they did not know what to do. They politely said this was beyond their ability. Took him back to the hospital and had him checked again. Again I was sent home with no answers.

Then on August 31, my dog completely stopped eating ANY FOOD and or drinking ANY WATER. By now he had lost almost 24 lbs 10.88 KG. He was continuously bleeding and no one would help. Then On August 31st I slept with my dog all night, knowing he would die at night time, as he was bleeding so much. All night long, he kept opening his eyes to let me know he was there. Then by Friday sept 1st, God finally heard my cries and prayers. At 10 AM, my landlord came to my apartment just to make sure I was ok. When he saw what I was going through, he picked up the phone and spoke to someone in Portuguese. He hung up the phone and said let's go. I was shocked to hear him say that. I asked him where we were going, and he said to save your dog. He took me to zoosaude in Penela, walked inside and spoke with the receptionist. To be honest, I don’t think the Doctor wanted any more customers as they were very busy. But when he saw me holding my dog and crying outside, he said It will be 20 minutes. I thanked him and waited. Then they took us in. God had sent me an angel. His name was DR. Paulo Sousa DVM, Diretor Clínico Zoosaúde. X-ray, blood work, ultrasound, 5- 6 shots, I lost track, special food, medication to take home and an appointment to see my dog in 10 days. My buddy, KODA, was walking on his own. I was soooo happy, I just kept crying all the way home. He ate like a pig. He drank and ate some more. Then as if that was not enough, this Angel called me at 1900 hours to make sure Koda was ok.

We are still trying to resolve what the problem is. But it sounds like we are on the right track. The doctor told me what he thinks it is and so far so good. SO, if you care about your animal, PLEASE take it from someone who has been through hell and back. Five doctors, a clinic, hospital and finally in the hands of an angel. Thank you Dr. Paulo Sousa.

Na madrugada do dia 1 de julho a nossa amiga Mimi foi atropelada.Foi assistida na clínica veterinária em Penela onde permaneceu duas semanas.
Graças aos cuidados e profissionalismo de toda a equipa, a Mimi está recuperar muito bem e já fez alguns progressos.Caminha sozinha e já não precisa de ajuda para ir fazer as necessidades fisiológicas.
Durante o internamento fizemos várias visitas e fomos sempre recebidos com simpatia.Apesar da distância, as viagens da Sertã até Penela valeram a pena.

Apesar de nao ser a clinica habitual derivado á distância, no dia 15/5 ja passava das 20h numa situação de urgência, tanto ao telefone como depois ja na clínica em Penela, fomos muito bem atendidas pelo dr. Raul. A Nina agradece muito por ter cuidado dela. E nós agradecemos a disponibilidade e simpatia, coisa que nesse dia fiquei a perceber que não é assim tão comum em clinicas veterinárias com serviço de urgência. 🤔 OBRIGADA

Excelente profissionais, atenciosos, preocupados e fazem um seguimento dos casos com todo o amor e carinho, durante o internamento e também à distância, e mesmo a distância conseguem demonstrar preocupação e profissionalismo, que todos procuramos para o bem estar dos nossos animais de estimação.
Um grande bem haja a toda a equipa, e aproveito para agradecer toda a atenção que tiveram com a nossa kyara e connosco.

Muito profissionais. Já cá vim várias vezes e as minhas gatas foram sempre bem tratadas. A primeira vez que cá tive de vir a gata tinha comido um rato envenenado. Tentaram de tudo e acabaram por conseguir salvar a gata com uma transfusão! Obrigado!

Sempre atendida de forma humana e sensível, eu e a minha menina de 4 patas.Sinto-me tão acolhida e confiante com a fantástica equipa, que vou de propósito de Coimbra a Penela, só para ter a minha cadela ali tratada, apesar de não faltarem veterinários em Coimbra.
A minha opinião é a de que vale a pena deixarmos os nosso animais serem ali cuidados.

Veterinários extremamente competentes e cuidadosos com os animais! Moro na cidade de Coimbra mas desloco me sempre a Penela com a minha gatinha porque só confio neles. Para além disto, são a clínica com a melhor relação qualidade/preço, praticam os preços mais acessíveis de todas as clinicas que já visitei
