Restaurante O Bogalho

Really recommended for an authentic local experience!
We ended up in this working class suburb in the vicinity of the airport and found this local little restaurant with very good reviews.
Very basic and “outdated” decor, like typical local restaurants, and hence very authentic atmosphere.
The owners are an elder couple, he looks after the tables and she is in the kitchen, cooking with simple ingredients like at home.
Neither speak any foreign language, but they are super nice, genuine and cosy and took their time to try and explain the menu (obviously also in Portuguese only).
Our dinner was delicious, tasting and feeling very homemade and like visiting our own family.
Prices are also for locals, ie very affordable.
Would definitely come back if we are in the area again.

I visit Portugal every few years to visit family, and we were flying out of Lisboa the next day so we were looking for a close place to eat before we went back to the hotel. We were going to go to another restaurant we were familiar with but fortunately for us they happened to be closed. So we checked trip advisor and this place had good reviews so we decided to check it out.

When we drove up to the restaurant we were questioning whether or not to go since it looked empty and no one was there. It was around 7pm so quite early for a Portuguese dinner but we walked in anyways. Lights were off and we saw one man in the back, and his wife sleeping in the corner. We laughed at this but Mr. Pereira welcomed us with open arms and sat us down. To keep it short, this was the best restaurant I have ever been to. Hands down. Everything from the wine, to the cheese, the food—everything was outstanding. After leaving we left feeling like family vs. customers. Whenever I visit Portugal, I will be flying into Lisbon to visit this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

O Sr. pereira e a D. Sofia gerem este pequeno restaurante em Sacavém, a saída da expo. Não se consegue comer bem , só muito bem. As terças o melhor pernil deste país plantado a beira mar . As sextas o arroz de garoupa e gambas ou a acorda de gambas fazem fila. E que dizer do cozido a quinta feira? Bem é melhor lá ir todos os dias. Não tem MB, mas merece a visita, sempre.

Preços muito baratos e comida caseira de grande qualidade. A minha família é cliente regular há anos e o Sr. Pereira e a sua mulher, Dona Sofia, são uma das razões porque continuamos a voltar! Super simpáticos, verdadeiros portugueses humildes, já não há muita gente assim!

Adoro comer no Bogalho!!! O senhor Pereira e a senhora Sofia são incríveis! Super carinhosos e atenciosos com os clientes. Comida tradicional portuguesa optima, preço acessível! É possível também levar comida para casa. Um pequeno tesouro em Sacavém.

O senhor Pereira e a sua esposa são super atenciosos e a comida tradicional é excelente. Tudo muito bom, mas recomendo o Polvo, o cabrito, vitela assada e o bacalhau. O restaurante é pequeno, por isso recomendo ir cedo

Fomos à descoberta... E sem duvida que é um local a voltar. Não só pela simpatia do Sr, como a muito boa confecção da comida. Além da primazia pela utilização de produtos nacionais. Um bom queijo de cabra fatiado na mesa. É um espaco pequeno.
