Sant Baba Khem Singh Bedi (1832-1905) of Bedi Mahal, Kallar Syedan was the influential Sikh leader of the traditional “Santana” order in Potohar region, Pakistan.Being 13th in line after great Guru Nanak Bedi (1469-1539) in the family tree, Baba Khem Singh always had one eye on political power.

Bedi Mehal: Located in Kallar Sayeedan near Rawalpindi, this was the haveli of Baba Khem Singh Bedi.

The haveli is a time capsule - it has remained closed since 1947 - that is why it is so well preserved. See beautiful frescos in it below. During the time of Bedi family from early 1800s onwards, it was referred to as Kallar Bedian but after 1947 the name reverted back to Kallar Sayeedan.

Baba Khem Singh Bedi claimed to be 14th in direct descent from Sri Guru Nanak Dev Sahib Ji.

Fantastic structure with great historical significance. Great Sikh architecture and fantastic Fresco Paintings in good condition. Top floors are not in good shape and badly need restoration to preserve this masterpiece for future generations.

The beautiful precious historic building I would say.. one of the most beautiful Masterpieces of the architecture of the Sikh era. Just in the heart of the city Kalar Syedan. Unfortunately because of the carelessness of the Punjab government and relevant authorities, this building has been dilapidated. The Punjab government should have to take action and restore this beautiful Palace to the real condition.

It's inside Higher secondary school for boys. Entry to school is upon permission from principal. But entry to the Bedi Mahal restricted because of its condition.

It is beautiful mahal in kallar syedan my village.It is buily by sir bedi(late) in 19th century.Its structure is most beautiful.
Now this is in kallar Syedan High School.We can also go here with the permission of principal of this school.The allow visiter to see this beautiful place.There is one thing not in kallar.Kallar has many things that show our culture.In early we are Rajpoot and rajpoot were hindu.like Raja Dahir.Muhammad Bin qasim fought and win battle.Now Alhamdo llilah we are muslim.And proud to be Muslim.

A historical place in Kallar Syedan district Rawalpindi, about foury kilometres away from the Islamabad city. Coming from Islamabad on Expressway, take left turn at Rawat towards Kallar Syeddan. From here turn it is not far away.
Although it is a historical place and needs attention. But it is.totally neglected. District administration and other concerned departments should play their part to make it attractive and visitor friendly.

Baba Khem Singh Bedi was born in 1832, to a merchant family that traced its lineage to Baba Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism. In his life, Baba Khem Singh Bedi became an incredibly important personality in the Potohar Plateau, both in terms of his contribution to Sikhism and his patronage to the city of Rawalpindi.

its an castle i visited may time its good for turism but drug adict people move there alot so be safe

I have visited this place I have gained experience that we have very good places to visit in Pakistan
