Mental hospital was shifted from it’s original location which is now Hazara University. Current new location is Government Mental and General Hospital Dadar.

The present hospital was originally constructed in 1939 as the largest TB sanatorium in South Asia (spread over to 600 Kanals). In 2002, it was named as Mental & General Hospital with 100 psychiatry beds and 50 general beds. After 03 major disasters (flood 1992 & 2002; Earthquake 2005), the infrastructure has been damaged and remains functional with minor repairs only.

The historical mental hospital is located here in Dadar in the Valley of Jabori Mansehra. Dadar is a beautiful place and the weather and atmosphere here is awesome. Dadar is also famous for thunderstorm once came. It destroyed major part of the Dadar. It is a good place to visit with family and friends as it is very near to Shinkiyari and Mansehra city.

It was an ild TB sanitarium. Abonden now. Recetly a mental hospital was shifted in part of it ..its a nice and serenic place full of pines and a cliff at end
