PUNJAB has a wealth of historical, archaeological,

religious, and aesthetic sites that might be marketed

to attract both local and foreign tourists. There are

several such places in the Gurdaspur district that,

while being fairly old and historically significant, have

not been included on tourist circuits or sufficiently

acknowledged in tourist literature.

The deeds of Alexander, who had traveled as far as the Beas, were seen by Gurdaspur and its neighboring areas. Alexander's last camp before embarking on his return march is said to have been on the Beas River, most likely in this region.

This mosque was in very bad shape until recently but finally, it received a much-needed facelift. From the outside, it looks like any other late Mughal-era mosque but its real beauty lies inside where its richly decorated walls lie.
