AWKUM, established in 2009, is the second-largest university of the province and stands 2nd in the last HEC ranking for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In the recent past, HEC awarded and ranked it 1st in the province and 15th in the country for research awards under National Research Program for Universities. The university has 32 academic departments where 95 undergraduate and graduate programs are offered to 12000 students. Five of its campuses have been upgraded as independent universities i.e. Women University Mardan, Bacha Khan University Charsadda, University of Swabi, the University of Chitral, and University of Bunir. This unique and immense contribution of the university within such a short period is unparalleled in the country’s history. With a qualified faculty of 450 (including half being PhDs), qualified administration, and a vibrant community of 12000 students, the university has tremendous potential for further contribution and becoming a leading educational institution.

I have been here in the session 2016-20 , it was the best time of my life. I learned a lot, experienced the diversity, got involved in many activities, enjoyed many festivals and galas . It’s a very very beautiful university. The standard of education is very high, good at higher levels of study , It has schools of almost every field. I was the student of Physics.

Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan (AWKUM)  is a public university located in Mardan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.Established in April 2009, the university is named after Abdul Wali Khan, a prominent personality of Pashtunkhwa and has forty nine institutions affiliated to it.The university started in an already-built postgraduate college of Mardan, has nine campuses and more than ten thousand students enrolled in thirty one disciplines as of 2015. The campus at Swabi was opened in October 2010 in the Anbar elementary college building and has since then become the University of Swabi and the Palosa campus is home to Bacha Khan University.Currently the university has five faculties and three constituent colleges. The faculties are Faculty of Arts & Humanities, Faculty of Chemical and Life Sciences, Faculty of Physical & Numerical Sciences, Faculty of Economics & Business, Faculty of Social Sciences. The Pashtunkhwa College of Art, Womans' College and the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary College are also constituent colleges of the University.

As much i was heard about this institute that their staff are corrupt, their is only favoritism etc these all is going to be wrong because the faculty members is too much hard worker and now their is no concept of corruption and favoritism
