This place is a good and maybe the only good place to stay in Gurez other than some Homestays run by locals. This is JKTDC rest house and is taken care by a old but very caring care taker. He’s more than willing to help for anything you would need at the place while you stay but please note that the food isn’t available here. You need to go to some other place for the food like the hotel Kaka palace that is nearby. Otherwise this place is neat and clean, with hot water facility and electricity that’s off and on during the day/night. This place is a bit off the market area so you need to cross the market to reach here. The old fellow maintains the property and informed that the govt. doesn’t spend anything and he has to do everything for maintaining this property. I seriously feel that JK govt. should look at providing good stay and food facilities if they want to promote tourism at Gurez.

One of the best rest house in very reasonable rate . The caretaker Haji uncle is a gem of a person. It is a safe place . They do not have a restaurant . And if you are a vegetarian do carry some food along with you. Local restaurants are mainly specialised into non vegetarian food.

Gurez d hidden paradise on earth ..it iz vel known for its greenry and its beautiful mountains ...its springs r very famous ol across d world but unfrtunstly it iz not evn 10% developed by d state r centre govt .....ol d Mlas and M.ps wre thief and murderers ...jus did one thng broked close relations of d whole valley ....d highway conecting d valley with d rest of d world iz not comfrtable for a horse ride ...
Gurez valley iz full of natural beauti ...it has been 9 years since d valley iz on tourism map by MLAs 'through thre speach but i hve not seen a single tourist in these 9 years ..........visit once to dis paradise ....and u vil nvr forget ........

Superb location, neat and clean rooms,
Only drawback is they don't serve even Tea.
Once you reach the location you do not have any option even for tea, lunch,dinner etc.
Limited electricity, no network zone etc.

I was stay this place first time .mind blowing so much fun

An absolute beauty hidden near the line of control dividing Indian Occupied Kashmir from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Instead of traveling by road, we used J&K Tourism Department's chopper service. That took 25 minutes one way vs six hours of you travel by road. When you are here, you should buy local wild cumin seeds that are a bit expensive (INR 5,000 per kilogram) but the most fragrant of any cumin varieties found anywhere else in the world. The locals are such lovely people and speak Shina language in addition to Kashmiri and Urdu. The pyramid shaped mountain, known as Habba Khatoon mountain, is a distinguishing landmark.

Such a beautiful guest house, it is more special for Mr. Lone who takes care of this property. He is also known as Kaka.
