Irene's Vigan Empanada - Crisologo

A must-try in Vigan is simply an authentic taste. We went in the morning at 9 a.m.—not much food available, but worth the visit and less hussle.

This iconic eatery is known for its skillful preparation of crispy, golden-brown shells filled with a savory mix of Vigan longganisa, vegetables, and egg.

Empanada tasted good. Both the pork (Vigan longanisa) for 50pesos or the special empanada with bagnet for 60pesos.
You can opt to have it heated.

Vinegar is sour for my taste. But surprisingly compliments the empanada.

Empanada is crispy, papaya is the main vegetable with 1 whole egg. Size is alright. Their empanada has a generous amount of vigan longanisa compared to some empanada I have tried.

The iconic empanada of Vigan finds its best home in this humble eatery. My favorite meal is the combo jumbo for 100 pesos, a whole meal in one empanada that includes hefty servings of longanisa, bagnet, vegetables, and egg, deeply fried to crunchy perfection. Also has great service, they delivered my orders for free at our hotel since there was a wait when I ordered.

The empanadas are amazingly crispy and delicious. They have different fillings and they are freshly made every day. I tried their longanisa and chicken versions and was blown away by the great taste.
The place itself is simple, but they have enough fans for you to enjoy the atmosphere.

Best. Empanada. Ever. Need I say more? My boyfriend seldom likes food that he doesn't know of. When we tried Irene's empanada, it's like our faces melted. Up to now, we still can't stop thinking of Irene's empanada.

Love local food especially Vigan's empanada. This local restaurant in Vigan has been producing the best empanada in town and it is Irene's empanada. Everytime I had to hangout with friends in Vigan, empanada is a must go-to merienda and make sure to go straight to Irene's empanada. Empanada is one of the famous delicacies in Ilocos Sur. It is best dip with sukang Iloko. Perfect!

Best longganisa for even the best value! Even better than the expensive ones on crisologo st! A bit oily but the taste was superb. Nice empanada as well. Hadn't had the chance to shoot the longanisa coz it was too delicious to resist! A good local resto and a must-try specially if on a budget. Oh. And by the way, they're open as early as 8am. When all of vigan is still asleep. :))) that's actually the main reason how we discovered it.

Good place for ilocos empanada. Their empanada is actually better than the ones we tried at the plaza and they offer different varieties - from the regular empanada (with pork longganisa) to empanada with chicken, tuna, crab, etc.

I recommend the basic empanada (P50) with cheese (P10 add on).

Ordered the combo special which had both bagnet and longganisa in addition to the egg and veggies. BEST EMPANADA among all that we had. Freshly made by order and worth the wait. Their wrapper is very fluffy, flaky and buttery, almost like a savory croissant empanada wrapper type.

Best empanada in Vigan! Go for the Super Combo (longganisa + Bagnet) really filling. The only drawback is the waiting line. My suggestion is order first before you do your tour.

Best local favorite in Vigan. Crispy empanada, fatty bagnets and great tasting logganisa in afforable prices. It's a real go-to for food. Kinda hot but that's summer weather for you. Don't expect air conditioning its a local eatery. Great for family and friends to dine. Friendly and accomodating.

The best empanada in Vigan. Empanada is a trademark if the north, and this is the vest olace ti experience emapanada when in ilocos sur, Vigan to be specific. Though, it could get really hot in the afternoon with very little ventilation.

Super sulit! The price is not too much but the empanadas are really great. Plus, Ms. Irene, the owner is very accommodating. They have great staff here :)
