A good place to hear the words of god and to worship! We pray as one Family. We could not feel blessed or more loved in this church. This is the place where the best church weddings, Christianing, burials. The office is at the back of the church if you want to hold an occasion in the church.

From Calbayog city- Catbalogan city- Palo leyte commute via grandtours , tricycle from M/v Eva in tacloban, multicab, jeepney to reach Palo, Leyte.

A symbol of Hope after rising from devastation of Typhoon Yolanda. A memorial dedicated to those who perish is located outside the church. The beautiful image of our Lady is inside a special chapel where one can pray and feel the comforting touch of hope.

Wonderful, wonderful Cathedral. The altar is incredible!!! What an outstanding architecture and interior. The main door/entrance is magnificent that it made me tell my company's Operations Director the story of the Baptistry door of the Cathedral in Florence made by Lorenzo Ghiberti which is so beautiful that Michelangelo declared the Ghiberti door worthy of the Gates of Paradise. A beautiful place to worship the Creator.

As a Yolanda survivor, this place filled me with sadness, but most importantly, it gave me solace and feeling of hope. It reminds me that during trials and tribulations, we are not alone. Someone will be there for us, and ready to help in times of need.

May the souls of the Typhoon Yolanda victims find peace in heaven. You will always be remembered.

The seat of the Archdiocese of Palo. The ruins of the old convent is still here, built around 500 years ago. Outside the cathedral is also the mass memorial grave for the lives lost during the onslaught of Typhoon Yolanda.

This church is such a beauty. I like the design outside and the interior is beautiful, too. This pilgrim is a must-visit to everyone, especially to churchgoers.

This is the central or pivotal church of the Roman Catholic of the Vicariate of Palo.

This church was once visited by Pope Francis last January 2015, when he cam to visit Leyte to be in communion with those that were affected, survived as well as perished during typhoon Yolanda or international name Haiyan. Mass grave of those that have died during this typhoon is located on the Cathedral grounds.

The Archbishop usually preside or hear mass in this Cathedral.

Founded by the Jesuits on late 1500's, transferred to the Agustinian when the Jesuits were expelled by King Charles III, and was later bequeated to the Franciscans.

When viewed from the top, the Cathedral is shaped like a cross and pointing Eastward.
