We did our Advanced OW course with Bongo Bongo Divers and thoroughly enjoyed our experience! Shout out to Luna, our dive instructor for being such an awesome teacher! Their equipment was very good as well! They just received a shipment of new BCDs and we were able to use them throughout the course. For our electives we did the night dive (amazing), fish ID (super informative) and peak performance buoyancy (most useful!). They also have an amazing boat and crew! we did 3 dives in Apo Island as part of our course. We stayed in a 3 person room with AC on the second floor of the main building which was quite comfortable. We had a shared bathroom right next door. The accommodations were basic but comfortable. Overall, if you’re interested in diving in Dauin, look no further! Go with Bongo Bongo Divers!

I did my PADI rescue diver course at Bongo Bongo with Luna as my instructor, and it was best decision I could have made! I have tried many different dive shops in the Philippines, but not one was as professional and customer-oriented as Bongo Bongo. Next to a high quality learning experience, you get top equipment, nice & affordable accommodation, and all employees & guests are super friendly. I felt at home immediately and can recommend it to everybody!

Outstanding Customer Service: From the moment I arrived until departure, the staff exceeded expectations. Exceptional customer service, with a commitment to making my stay comfortable.

Ideal Location: Perfectly situated in the heart of Dauin, providing easy access to attractions, especially the Apo Island.

Value for Money: The quality of service and amenities justified the cost. Great value for the price paid.

Diving: I did my PADI Rescue Dive course with Luna. Really great instructor! One of the best. Enjoyed their new dive equipment too.

Got my Open Water Certification from Bongo Bongo! Staff are really nice and helpful. Luna was my instructor and she made me feel safe throughout the course. They have a really nice house reef and that's where I did my course dives. Rooms are cheap but nice. We got an AC room for 2 with private CR for more or less Php 1500 only. Can't wait to go back soon!

I took my AOW here, over several days upon the recommendation of a friend of mine.

Luna, my instructor, was very knowledgeable and professional. I learned a lot, allowing me to achieve the first objective on each dive: finish the dive safely. 😁

Their facilities were top-notch and the staff very accomodating and friendly.

I found my room very comfortable. Their bar set up was convenient.

We came here for our PADI Open Water Diver and had the best time! Luna is a wonderful teacher with loads of knowledge and experience. Also the rest of the staff there were always super kind and helpful. The resort itself is very beautiful especially the shared bathrooms and the pool. Great location just a couple of steps away from the beach, where there's a beautiful reef to explore (we saw several sea turtles, colourful corals and fish).
After finishing our course we got to go to Apo Island, where we had the most amazing diving experience so far. Plenty of sea turtles again, clear water and the most diverse creatures we've seen to this point.
We're definitely coming back again and will recommend Bongo Bongo divers to anybody looking for a great diving experience!

We stayed for 6 nights and I did my Advanced Open Water and Nitrox certifications with Bongo. The staff, guides and instructors were all excellent.
The location is great and being able to get food delivered from the local restaurants was a great bonus!

I didn’t stay there. I was there for diving for 3 days.

Staff were very professional and calm. They were knowledgeable and shared all information asked. They managed different dive sites for our 9 dives.

Honestly I didn’t come to Dauin with much expectation except few dive but here everything was going very smoothly & we kept continuing everyday.

Thanks for good experience!

Very nice, clean professional place. The gear is well taken care of, the boat is pristine and the bar is a nice atmosphere to hang out. The guides and the owner were so welcoming.

Got my Open Water certificate at Bongo Bongos and it was the best experience!
The people there, the lessons, the generel atmosphere of the place, everything. No complaints at all 🙌

It has taken me about 8 years to get around to leaving a review. I went there with my then wife. I had a great time then, it was great. The ambience and energy eclipsed any minor short comings. The 'Boat' was still being built then.
Am 63 now, still diving, will return. Take care and thanks for the great memories, hope you are all well.

I took my Open Water Diver Certificate at Bongo Bongo, and it was a really nice experience. I felt so safe with my instructor, Luna, who was very professional and attentive. I also stayed at Bongo Bongo while taking the certificate and it is a really nice place with good service and a very lovely atmosphere. When I was done with my course, I went on a daytrip with Bongo Bongo to Apo Island, and it is one of the best experiences I ever had. I can highly recommend staying, diving and taking a diver certificate at Bongo Bongo!

Consummate professionals that have established the standard I seek in every other dive shop.

I recently started a 2-month dive trip across the Philippines after 8 years from my last dive. I spent six months researching the best dive shop to reactivate and earn my AOW, and chose Bongo Bongo due to their reputation - I was more than impressed.

Their instructors and dive masters worked with me after every dive to correct mistakes, learn new skills and become a better, safer diver. They are not a "service" dive shop like far too many, they have a strict emphasis on quality that shows.

I was also trained using a Shearwater Peregrine which was very nice and demonstrates their approach to quality. Their dive facilities and equipment are clean and well maintained. They also provide stable and very high speed internet, which is a rarity in the Philippines, even better than I have at home in the US.

More than that, they have built a community-focused dive shop where I was encouraged to hang out in my off time and chat with some truly professional divers. Plus they offer a consistent dive schedule including Apo Island and night dives (I could dive any night I wanted). Their house reef is absolutely fantastic, lots of vibrant coral and sealife including massive turtles only meters away from their door.

They retrained me from the ground up and every time I mention that "I was trained at Bongo Bongo" I hope I do their reputation justice.

Had a great trip to Apo Island for snorkeling, but unfortunately there wasn't a guide assigned to the snorkelers and we were left to our own devices and the boat even left us once to go somewhere else without letting us know. However, we had a great meal (pancakes, coffee, tea, and then veggie-currie and rice later) and 3 full diving spots.

Bongo Bongo Divers is a great place for anyone keen to dive in Dauin with knowledgeable and safe divemasters and instructors, and who is looking for reasonably priced and good quality accommodation within walking distance of the beach and main town.

I've stayed with them a couple of times now, and the atmosphere is always friendly and sociable, which is great if you want to chat with other like-minded divers in the evenings.

They have a cafe / bar serving drinks, and while they don't serve food, you're welcome to use the kitchen, or to order food in for delivery from one of the many tasty restaurants in Dauin.

I recently did my instructor development course with Anthony, who is an excellent course director, and he put in lots of time and work to make sure we had all the skills and knowledge we needed to pass the instructor exam. Thanks Anthony! :)

We did some diving with bongo bongo in Nov. 2023. Sadly we did not have a chance to stay in any of their rooms or hostel since it was fully booked at the time. We would have loved it, it's a great place to sit and hang out.

In the morning we went to bongo bongo straight away and didn't leave until late in the evening. Very nice vibe and atmosphere.

Usually we took a dip in the pool, hung out at the bar, slept in the hammock. And they serve real coffee here, no instant stuff here. Just fresh self roasted beans and a real espressomachine, grinder and steamer.

This helps me wake up before our early morning dives.

We had a great time with both the guests an crew, all really nice and genuine people. Special shout outs to Tito, Tado, jhong, Nathan, Dylan, Anthony, Luna and everyone else.

Loved playing with the dogs Oskar and croissant 🤗

We did some diving with bongo for 4 days. We did a couple of shore dives on El dorado, silver reef, secret point and Dauin North and some other. This was a nice mix of muckdive and reef dives. The divemasters are really well informed and have a lot of knowledge about all the coral, fish and critters.

Did some night dive as well, was very cool. We saw a couple of frogfish, candy crabs, Harlequin shrimp and lots of other stuff. There was a turtle having a nap under the Reef.

Ofcourse we went on their day trip to Apo Island. This place has some of the most pristine coral reef we've seen in the Philippines.  We dove the entire west side. The east and especially the marine sanctuary has a lot of damage from the tyfoon, going to take some years to recover.

First we dove rock point west which at the time had very little current. Expect giant coral gardens here, lots of marina life and in general a really chill dive.

Next we did a drift from coconut point ( the washing machine ) to the end or Largahan. You can read up on a lot of horror stories of this place but we found non of them were true. Ofcourse it all depends on whats your experience and what your conferrable with. Expect stronger current here, it will sweep you up, down and go from fast to slow and the other way around in an instant.

It has some dead spots with no current at all and here you can take some pics. Do not expect to do both dive sites in one dive all the time, this heavily depends on the current, your air consumption and that of the entire group. We were very lucky to be able to do this. Ofcourse we dove within our limits and safety measures.

Next up chappel to katipanan, again current but not as strong as the earlier dive. This was our third and final dive on apo island. The trip really delivered.

During our dives there was always some kind of snack, food and ofcourse drink like water and coffee on board.

They nicely paired up everyone with a buddy who has either the same certifications, same experience and similar air consumption. If possible 2 or more apply. This is done to ensure you have the best possible experience. Ofcourse the local divemasters, guides and instructors are great.

Let's not forget the boat crew who really helps you in all possible ways and prepare a meal for the longer trips.

We enjoyed our time here and would definitely go back.

The list of the stuff you can see here is very long so you can Google that yourself ;)
