We just visited this church for our Visita Iglesia 2024..This is one of the oldest church in Laguna province.There's a lot of pay parking space..

A welcome relief to find a place to contemplate in the city. This is a National Shrine and pilgrims are welcome every 12th of the month. Easily accessible

Easily accessible upon reaching Pagsanjan. Despite of the noise from the outside, you will find an inner sanctuary once inside.

One of the old churches along calabarzon. Always an experience to visit old churches. Pagsanjan church is also known as Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish church and one of the oldest. When you pass the arc leading to the town of Pagsanjan, it’s just 5-6 minutes drive and you’ll see the beautiful church.

We visited this church after shooting the rapids and visiting Pagsanjan Falls. It's a historical (late 17th century) church and is the oldest of the first 12 parishes in the Philippines dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe. The main church has a simple structure, but a small side chapel dedicated to St. Juan Diego's miraculous mantle (called "tilma") is very colorful and artistically designed. It's worth a visit! Also don't fail to visit the church's inner cloister.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Church, designated as the Diocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe of the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Pablo, is the only Roman Catholic Church in Pagsanjan, Laguna, Philippines, and the oldest church in the Philippines under the patronage of Our Lady of Guadalupe. It is home to the patroness of Pagsanjan, Our Lady of Guadalupe, whose image was a gift from Mexico.

A former visita of Lumban, the parish church of Pagsanjan was founded on November 12, 1687, by Franciscan missionary Father Agustin de la Magdalena as its first pastor (parish priest).[3][4] The first church was originally made of light materials like bamboo, nipa and wood in 1688 by natives of Pagsanjan under forced labor.[2][5] A larger and more solid church constructed from adobe with a red-tiled roof was built in 1690 with the help of Chinese Miguel Guan Co and chief alguacil alferez Alonzo Garcia to replace the original church.[2][5]

Further renovations were conducted from 1847 to 1852 under Father Joaquin de Coria, who engineered the stone belfry and Romanesque dome.[5] In 1872, the church added a transept under the direction of Father Serafin Linares and Father Cipriano Bac.[2]

The church was heavily damaged by American and Filipino military bombers on March 15, 1945 during World War II.[2] A replica of the church was constructed over its ruins, without the original dome, with the help of Manila Pagsanjenos under the leadership of Engr. German Yia and Dr. Rosendo Llamas.[2] Serious restoration efforts after the war took place in 1965 under Lipa Archbishop Alejandro Olalia. On April 6, 1969, Bishop Pedro Bantigue blessed the rebuilt church and consecrated the main altar.[4] Due to the devotion of the people of Pagsanjan and nearby towns, the Diocese of San Pablo declared Pagsanjan Church as the Diocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in 2012. Under the term of Monsignor Castillo from 2013 to the present, further renovations were carried out, including the church patio and construction of the choir loft and church gate.

This is a nice place to contemplate.Everytime I visit pagsanjan I see to it that I visit Our lady of guadalupe shrine becoz i have so many answered petition here.. Try to say or write any petition before the Lady, and see how miracles do happen.

A historical church in the province of Laguna. Its white facade stands out from among its neighboring structures. This church is perfect for Visita Iglesias during the Holy Week.

Easily accessible, beautiful, clean and well-ventilated. Well-maintained. The old structures are kept to remind us of this church's heritage. Must visit!

This church is known when you enter pagsanjan ..

Entered when there is no mass. Very quiet place and have a nice relaxing vibe.

Traffic is heavy because it is located in junction of roads from Sta Cruz, Cavinti and Lumban. I find it odd that the church is facing the river junction, perhaps during the old days people flock it using the river.

A moving experience encountering Our Lady of Guadalupe, leading us to her Son, Jesus.

A beautiful church. Souvenirs are available at their shop. They have great selection of shirts. You may want to get one.

Got a glimpse of this church on our way home from Cavinti, Laguna. Said a little prayer and head home.
