A hidden gem located in Alamada, North Cotabato, Philippines. Known for its unique beauty and captivating allure. Unlike any other waterfall that streams from a height. Asik-asik features a breathtaking water curtain that flows softly over a wall of rich vegetation, creating a mesmerizing natural scenery.

I went to visit this place but was told that the path to Asik Asik is closed since Oct 2023 until further notice for renovation. I thought I would be disappointed but they told me to go to Daltan Falls which shares the same entrance area as the Asik Asik Falls. I will return for Asik Asik! FYI I came here on the 20th Dec 2023. No tentative opening date yet so keep checking Alameda Tourist Facebook page which I didn’t. 🤦‍♂

I went to the Daltan Falls instead and was amazed and refreshed. It’s like a smaller version of Asik Asik Falls on the other side of the river. I still had a great time with the cold spring water. Do not miss this opportunity regardless if you are in the area.

Going down is mesmerizing. The view is so nice. Its landscape is a living artwork. The views on top, in the middle, and down below shifts as you go down the trail. The trail is cemented which is a great help.
The falls is just awesome. It's so unique. Water falls from behind a tree-covered cliff. It's almost magical!
The climb going back is exhausting! Exhausting!!!

Transportation going to and from it is something that will greatly help increase the popularity of this place. As of the moment, it is a problem.

One of the most beautiful falls in the Philippines.

Streams of pristine water rushing down a mountain cliff covered wholly in green makes for a stunning image, and the judges of a national photography contest held in 2012 in the Philippines clearly thought so too. They awarded a photo of the Asik-Asik waterfalls in the mountainous Alamada region, and in doing so, announced the existence of this natural wonder to the world.

The newfound oasis was christened Asik-Asik, meaning “sprinkle-sprinkle” in the local Hiligaynon language, after the sprinkle of falling water on nearby rocks. Lush vegetation covers the entirety of the ravine, and adds mystery as to where the water is coming from. The most likely sources are thought to be springs deep within the mountain or an underground river.

When God blessed the Earth with abundance of beauty, it is undeniable that Asik-Asik Falls was given a huge amount of it.

The entire Nature Park is a Heaven-on-Earth due to its natural and habitable beauty, incomparable to other parts of the country.

The majestic waterfalls stretches at least a kilometer-wide along the cliffs of two valleys where its base river flows rapidly. So, if I will be asked what makes the waterfalls magical? It's the branches of endemic leafy vines hanging on it! I haven't seen that in any waterfalls here in Luzon! Not to mention the strength of these vines that are wet throughout the year, and yet, they are still abundant, deep green and thrives along the walls of Asik-Asik.

May the Local Government Unit keep this one-of-a-kind natural gift. Kudos to them for keeping the place clean, sustainable and its majority being untouched/unaltered throughout the years!

The place offers a great experience with nature and clear cold water. The view is verily astonishing and worth all the 600++ stares than needed to go through to reach the falls. Believe me when I say it requires enormous physical strength but believe me also when I say its more than worth all the physical challenge, because it is. Entrance fee is 30 pesos. Parking fee starts at 10 pesos. Be there early and bring umbrella or jacket to shield you from the heat as you traverse the trail. Enjoy!

One of the best waterfalls in the Philippines!! Definitely a falls to visit in North Cotabato.

- 70pesos entrance fee if you came from other places outside North Cotabato, plus the 20pesos environmental fee.
- You need to hike for at least 15-30minutes depending on your capability.
- There are stores along the trail.
- No CR in the waterfalls.
- You can take habal habal from Libungan Market, 700-800pesos two-way trip.

Reaching Asik-Asik Falls is a bit challenging because it's a combination of motorcycle ride for almost two hours. Although the roads are concrete, the wind and sun's UV rays are unavoidable. Nonetheless, I was rewarded with an amazing view surrounded by relaxing greens.

Amazing waterfall. All fed from springs no drive no lake nearby. You actually start the walk on the mountain above the waterfalls. It's ice cold but there is places to swim in the river that run in front of where the water lands. Also ice cold. No guide needed unless u want to trek to see extra falls off on the side but that is a difficult trek off path. From alameda about 1 hour habal-habal ride. Half very rough roads leave it to the pros. About another hour If conning from nearest city midsayap. Which is a safe cit y for tourists to stay.

The trail left my calves hurting for days but the view is perfect, the water is cold, the experience was awesome. Will definitely go back.

TIP: Try to go when it didn't rain the day before so the water will be clear. Ours was brown because we went the day after Tropical Cyclone Crising passed Cotabato.

Asik-Asik Falls in Alamada North Cotabato

Breathtaking Beautiful view. Clean and sweet water from the falls. The crystal clear water are from the mountain.
Best to go there in the morning since it has 700 steps going down and 700 steps of coming back to the main road.

You should be 100% healthy and feeling well if you explore the falls.

My experience I have 2 days muscle pain in my legs. But the experience is worth-taking.

I would give a score from 1-5..
(1 beeing the lowest and 5 being the highest)

For hikers and nature lovers... this is a big 5 🤩
Why? because you will enjoy the trail and you'll be rewarded of what you will experience when you get there..

For those ages between 30's up? (who are not that fit enough?)
I would say this is a 1(one) for the trail.. reasons are mentioned on the other reviews..
but 5 for the beauty of the place itself..

Why?This is only based on my experience...
We had to walk down the hill just to get there and if you're not that fit I don't suggest to take the risk...
(You should bring something like umbrella or wear a cap, someone who can stay with you while you rest, water, and your goal to finish it if you do)

There's a place where you can buy something before you start the trail though and never forget to rent one of their bamboo sticks that can support you when you climb back up the trail because it's really tiring.. I have decided to ride a horse when I was halfway of the trail since I can't make it any further...hahaha

Bring food as well and it's better if you'll have those (to go foods) easy to bring foods.. so you can have something to eat when arrive and never forget to bring back your trash with you..

And guess what? when you get there?
Just what I had mentioned earlier.. you will be rewarded of what you will see... a beautiful creation of God...

Satisfying, relaxing..
That's when I realized.. you really cannot achieve something in an easy way.. you'll have to work hard and have your goal to finish it and your goal that you can do it..

I was just hoping to have an easy way to get there... A cable car maybe? hahaha... I know it is quiet impossible but that would promote tourism and jobs for the locals..

Really breath-taking... both in terms of the view when you get there, and the way getting out of there.

Visited on Christmas afternoon, around 3 pm. The number of people is pretty reasonable.

Parking was readily available.

To get to the falls, we needed to walk an 800-step trail - about 44 flights of stairs. The start of the trail is not cemented - it may be a good idea to wear hiking shoes. It is not very bad on the way down, and we rented walking sticks for 5 pesos each. It took about 15 minutes to descend.

The falls are a rewarding sight once we completed the descent. It is literally a curtain of water draped in verdant greenery. The water is clean, clear and refreshing, but quite cold. It's kept that way because showering with soap is not allowed... and people actually follow that. It's said that the water is "alkaline" and has health benefits.

There's a few "ledges" at the base of the falls where you can stand and experience the torrent of raging, refreshing cold water, or take selfies. A few people were swimming too.

The ascent back to the parking lot was challenging. It left a few people in my group winded. It took my group 50 minutes to get back to the parking lot, since we had to take frequent breaks. I imagine fitter visitors can accomplish the climb in 15-20 minutes.

In summary, it's great to visit and a sight to behold, but be prepared to deal with the torturous ascent.

A majestic place to enjoy and relax with nature, together with the most highlight, the exquisite and breathtaking curtain waterfall. And enjoyed the cold spring water, then challenged with the trails and steps going down and up 😅Never regret visited this place and hoping to visit again soon.

Hired a Habal-Habal going to Alamada from Midsayap and the ride is almost 2 hrs. Paid 1,000 pesos to the driver including tip & guide but didn't expect the 1,000 stairs/steps going to the falls. The place is pure magical. A double plus WOW! You will be amazed by the nature's natural wonder.

Want to go here? Prepare your stamina! Going down from the parking spot to the waterfalls is easy, but your journey back is quite a challenge. But it is all worth it with the beauty of this hidden gem. Amazing waterfalls which will mesmerize you! You can choose between stare at it for hours or feeling its cold water by dipping yourself in the stream. Both are nice experiences. I advise you to bring sufficient food supply and please keep this place clean! Do not litter! Bring back your trash back and put it in the proper place
