NOT THE BEST EXPERIENCE DURING OUR STAY.
My sister called DOT and asked for hotel recommendations within Alicia, Isabela. Rosato hotel was one of their referrals that we went with as it is the only open, and nearest hote near the Atocha church. Plus, they have Wifi so we should still be able to work remotely. We booked our stay 1-2 days before our arrival in the 1st week of April, and we’ve been inquiring for a week’s time. One of the managers - Vangie, even texted us in the morning asking for our status.
As we arrived, stress due to too much discomfort and aggravation started. In summary, the hotel-
1. Need to retrain their staff: their staff can see that we have a lot of heavy luggages. While1-2 of their staff helped carry, one young man (with a yellow, Rosato Alicia shirt) was just standing at the door looking at us, as if sizing us up. Another instance is their lack of customer service skills. They are hesitant to deal with us after they’ve seen how upset we are. They need to learn how to handle upset guests. You cannot say “nag open kami alang-ala sa inyo” as if we owe you our stay. Lack of preparation to welcome us as their guest.
2. Train/change managers. I feel bad for Vangie who took all the blows on how we were mismanaged in the main hotel. Sadly, the manager of the main hotel -Mel, was not even there. Or probably was there but did not even introduce herself nor assisted us with all of our concerns. I think they forgot how to run a hotel business after pandemic.
3. Facilities. Twice that water stopped coming out from the shower. I had to literally shout for “tubig”. They were only able to fix the water problem on our 3rd day.
The 3-bed room was a little more tidy than the 4-bed room we requested, and thats the problematic room too. Paint and wall paper falling off, cracks, uneven sink, no curtain on bathroom window. There were only 3 yellow lights working at that time. We even asked their maintenance to replace some bulbs, they gave us the white ones to our request.
WiFi is poor in our room, and not stable for all of us. We needed to work during our stay and we used up all our data minutes to get by. After all the hassle, we only had a decent connection on our 3rd day.
4. Compliments- when we arrived after a long trip, we did not even have complimentary water nor coffee. We even have to request for it, and was told that theres a fee for it. Gosh, a cheaper air bnb unit would do all of those, except from Rosato.
5. Positives- if theres any, the replaced our towels everyday. Also, they waived the fees for dirnking water and coffee- which is but right
I think DOT needs to check on hotels and stays first before they give them the go signal to open for business, to avoid this horrendous experience for future guests.
