Borussia German Restaurant

Owners are always nice and lovely. Had their hearty breakfast last year, we passed by but they're closed on Sundays but still allowed us to use the restroom. The entire resort is homey. Shared photos were taken last year.

Immaculate place away from the highway. Had some simple lunch. Shared some starfruit from the garden with the owner. Another customer came to buy just bread. Now I understand it because the owner explained that her late husband, Mr. Jürgen, was a master baker. Staff is well trained to keep up the standards. It is such place where you don’t feel as a customer but as a guest.

Great sausages and breads! The place is peaceful and hidden, away from the bustling city. Try the sampler so you can try different varieties of sausage that comes with the bread and butter.

Never had a bad meal here. Food and experience are always amazing...love the smoked pork loin and the different kinds of schnitzel. But the Goulash soup is definitely my all time fave!

Place is also super nice. Worth the 2 hour drive from the city 😊

This place is really worth it. If you're looking for a place to have lunch while travelling, try this place out instead of eating at road-side eateries. The owners are very warm and welcoming and the food is superb. Food is quite pricey but it's authentically German. Try the Roast Pork, Beef Goulash, and any of their soups. Visited here on April 2018 and I'll definitely be coming back.

We'll never discover Borussia German Resto if not for our boss who raved about it's bread and truly, they have good ones. The place is ideal for chill time with friends just enjoying coffee and the scenery. Plus points for their nice and well trained staffs who knows what to offer and what we needed when we were there. Personally, I like it's location and the ambiance of the whole place. It gives off a homey feel with it's beautiful garden and setting. Hopefully, I get to dip into their pool next time.

My family had a sumptuous lunch at Borussia German Restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday. This restaurant is a few meters along the Cebu Nautical Highway in Sogod, Cebu.

PROS:
-Accessible as this is only about few meters along the highway. You will notice the restaurant sign if you're going further north of the Cebu mainland. Located within the residential compound of the restaurant owner
-A great place to chill out. The restaurant stands in a clean and quite area surrounded by flowery garden. You can even hear the splash of the waves at the back of the restaurant as this is also located in a coastal plains
-Attentive and polite staff. From the time you're received at the restaurant until you finish you meal - the staff were there to assist us in all that we needed. If you're in luck, you might also see the German chef/owner and have a chat with you
-Not too pricey for a good place to eat
-Smoking area is available
-Has good parking spaces.
-Has variety of merchandises for sale - either mixed sauces made by the restaurant itself or international food packs and meats to satisfy you cravings
-Their variety of breads are famous in Cebu - *insider info* - one the major group of restaurants in Cebu get their breads here
-Toilets and wash areas are available close to the dining hall
-If you are a regular customer, you can even call the restaurant to prepare your food in advance as you travel so they're ready when you arrive

CONS:
-Although this is branded as a German restaurant, the food is a fusion of cuisine. I think they only attributed the "German" theme because of the owner's nationality
-They only accept cash transactions so you're plastic money is useless here.

Will I go back here again if given the chance - definitely! If you want to have a good place to eat without breaking the bank then this is your go to place in Sogod and Catmon in Cebu!

Our favorite stop-over going home everytime we go north of Cebu. Their Goulash soup with bread & butter alone makes the drive worth it. But what makes their breads, sausages even pizza and homemade pastries taste so good (because they are German) is the warmth and hospitality of the couple who owns the property. Kids always look forward to playing in the garden. The price may be a bit high for some but the place and relationship over the years with the owners more than make up for it.

This would be a nice detour if you love German food. They also have artisanal bread for sale. Love the old-world ambience with some bric-a-bracs for sale.

Borussia has always been known for their good quality breads and food. They have maintained that personal touch. The owners are very welcoming to all of the guests who dine there. The food is reasonably priced, too.

This is the best food experience in the Filipina. The food was great and the decor the most clean I've seen I the Philippines. Even the glass in the Windows was super clean. The garden had 7 people to maintain it. The owner is a Philippina woman. Her husband is German. They are so friendly you wanna adopt them as your grandparents. Haha. The staff is also super friendly and very efficient. I saw the kitchen and it looked like a proof kitchen from any fine restaurant in the world. We WILL come back again.

A taste of Germany smack in the calmer northern area of a bustling economic hub, Cebu. Great service, huge portion sizes, authentic taste, and perfect location--ingredients of a great experience and an escape from all the city noise. (The friendly doggies around the area are a plus.)

Food is great! Staff is accomodating. If you're looking for authentic German food along the way to the north, this is the place.

Terrific service and food. The place isn't as close to the beach as I initially thought, but it didn't need to be. It's very quiet and green, perfect for a stopover if you're coming from northern Cebu and want to eat good food.
