Granada Beach Resort

Fabulous long weekend getaway. The staff are excellent - Mike and Lisa run a tight ship! The food was some of the best we’ve had in the Philippines. The spring rolls were so good we even asked to see how they were made. It’s the perfect place to disconnect and just do nothing in a tranquil and calm environment. The private dining on the beach was the cherry on top of the tree! Thanks Mike, Lisa and team.

After a very long flight, we arrived at the resort and was so pleasantly surprised at the beautiful surroundings. The staff and owner, Lisa, were so accommodating and friendly we immediately fell in love with the place. The food, everyday was superb and the staff outstanding. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a place so accommodating. If ever I come back to Cebu, I will definitely go back to Granada Beach Resort.
Alex, the driver and guide for the whale shark experience, went above and beyond our expectations. We would have never been able to have the experience, but, Alex worked his magic and we were escorted first in line and was able to check it off our bucket list. I cannot express how much I truly enjoyed Granada Beach Resort without expressing thanks to Lisa, the owner and her staff. Every single one of them are exquisite and I highly recommend this resort! 5 stars for sure!

We contacted the resort directly when it seemed they were fully booked. Upon reaching out to them via email, the staff managed to accommodate my partner and me for two nights. I must say, Granada Beach Resort exceeded our expectations in Cebu, Philippines.

The rooms were aesthetically pleasing and incredibly clean, equipped with yoga mats, beach towels, and ample toiletries. The carefully designed menu offered great dishes and excellent service. The bistro's quiet and relaxing ambiance, complemented by a gentle breeze, was truly incredible. The staff, consisting of very kind ladies fluent in English, also deserves kudos for their selection!

Considering the freshness of the food served straight from the kitchen, we found the menu prices fair. Unlike other restaurants and resorts on the island, where our meals often arrived cold, Granada's service was just excellent. Our personal favorites were the spicy chicken pizza and for cocktails, the mango daiquiri.

While the presence of dogs didn't bother us, it's worth noting that they are friendly and can be easily shooed away if needed… The private beach area, equipped with hammocks and resting chairs, also offers reliable wifi.

As we were really longing for massages, the staff, and owners want the best service for guests. Although their preferred masseuse was unavailable, they managed to find a replacement before our departure. The massage, set in a special bungalow along the forest path, provided a zen atmosphere, a proper massage bed, leading to a deeply relaxing experience.

On our last day, we woke up early to witness the sunrise from a spacious area with a bench near a beautiful tree. This spot also allowed for capturing stunning pictures 😉 with a sort of defense tower ruin looking building in the background, likely used for yoga sessions.

Despite being fully booked during our stay, the resort's size ensured it never felt crowded. The ample space in public areas allowed for privacy and a comfortable experience.

After our stay at Granada BR we explored other resorts in Cebu in search of a comparable experience, but none quite matched the exceptional quality and tranquility we enjoyed at Granada.

If we return to the Philippines, Granada Beach Resort will undoubtedly be our top choice, and we wholeheartedly plan to recommend this exceptional getaway to our friends in the future.

My family and I are big fans of Granada Beach Resort.
I stayed at the property for 5 nights while some members of my family stayed a few months before me.
We all had a great time at the resort so I am in absolute disbelief when I read the ridiculous experience shared by a certain Cathleen Papag , a review characterized by vindictiveness, unfairness, and immaturity. You don’t bash the owners on social media where you had no proof- that’s libel! Her reviews were very poorly written and to be honest didn’t make sense (definitely needs a lesson on grammar).

To ridicule the food offered by the owners for a Christmas party this lady was invited to, says so much about her as a person - she revealed herself as having no finesse. I would question her upbringing. Blaming the owners for only receiving leftovers when she arrived more than an hour late was simply a shameful behaviour and reflects her ignorance of dining protocol. She clearly doesn’t know the etiquette that guests should arrive at or shortly after 15 minutes the time stated on the invitation.
Obviously, everyone was in a festive mood and you could only imagine the excitement in the air when guests and staff alike were getting ready to the event, with their carol singing and eating the yummy treats prepared by the owners and staff. So to have a guest like Ms Papag who was clearly not joining the fun esp during the Christmas season makes anyone wonder where the problem lies. She indirectly questions other guests like us who enjoyed your services and standards somewhat like liars.

Having read the response of the owner and my daughters’ own experiences at Granada, I would encourage everyone to ignore Ms Papag’s reviews - it had no bearing on reality and was a total waste of time !

Granada is a wonderful place where owners and staff treat their guests like their home guests. Anyone looking for relaxation, peace and quiet, blessed by good food and personalized service should not hesitate to book at this beautiful and well kept resort!

My family and I had a great time and will come back in a heartbeat!

What an amazing place to just stay relax, go snorkeling, eat their great dishes, and also enjoy some of their fruit drinks. Their staff deserves a perfect 10 always helpful, attentive, and so sweet. This place is just beautiful and so relaxing.

The Granada beach resort was amazing! We definitely want to come back again some day. Mike and Lisa are wonderful owners. Mike took us out scuba diving one day and we got to see a turtle and the reef which was very pretty. The quiet beach and massage just made it a very relaxing stay.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming hotel, and it exceeded all my expectations. The property is well maintained, and its location is perfect – nestled in a beautiful spot with a private beach, providing a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.
The hotel's proximity to the island's main attractions was a huge plus. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a place to rest out of the buzz of the city, then this is the place for you! You have a private beach with beautiful coral, they can arrange dives for you and if you’re lucky you might see the local turtles. We’re vegetarian and Lisa arranged for us almost everyday a vegetarian special - this was the best place to eat in town! The food was very good and all the staff is very attentive. The rooms were spacious. We were working remotely and all worked out. Internet was good but better in the common area. Since we had our own internet as well this was not a problem. They also help with arranging a scooter to move around and laundry. We couldn’t recommend more.

Amazing resort! Very peaceful, clean rooms, great restaurant and bar. The staff are super friendly. They have a private beach and can set up for romantic dinner at the beach. We went scuba diving in their private bay and saw turtles and so many fish and corals. Highly recommend for any couple or good friends.

I've stayed here on 3 occasions with family and friends. This place is so nice. It's peaceful and quiet, the rooms are clean and spacious overlooking the sea and the food is delicious. If you want to snorkel, they offer free use of snorkling gears. This place is paradise and is highly recommended for individuals who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city life. ♥🌴

Granada Beach Resort is a must! The owners and staff make an effort to help make your stay the best it possibly can be. They go above and beyond! The views are absolutely breathtaking. The outdoor dining area is so beautiful and the food is the best I’ve had in the Philippines. Incredible value for what you get while you are here. I would highly recommend!

We’ve stayed here soooo many times since we first chanced upon it on before the pandemic hit. The staff and the owners are like family to us now. Granada is our SANCTUARY. Every stay is always a delight! The service is superb. The rooms are homey and lovely. The food is so good! Their desserts are my fave! The beds are so comfy! Their linens are 5-star quality. It’s just a super relaxing place to be, especially for a couple of busy bees who just want a quiet day at the beach. Oh, did i mention that they have a beautiful house reef?

My friend and I stayed at Granada Beach Resort for 5 nights and we had a lovely time. We both highly recommend this resort.

I am confused at the reviews that have been posted before mine, they seem harsh and unfair as this is not the reality at Granada at all.

Our room upon arrival and throughout our stay was kept clean and tidy, the staff were very friendly and helpful. For a 3 star resort we were also greeted with a welcome drink and fresh towel, which was a lovely touch.

The grounds were well maintained and the scenery is just beautiful, a tropical paradise with ocean views.

The breakfast which is included in the room rate was delicious and it came with coffee and fresh fruit every day.

I’m not sure what you can complain about really.

The pressure of the water is not the best but we are in tropical paradise and the pressure in this part of the world is not the same as back in Europe.

I have been lucky to travel all over the world and have also stayed in many hotels across the Philippines, Granada stands out for me as a tranquil oasis in paradise.

I strongly advise to ignore bad reviews of this resort, I guess you cannot please some people.

Granada beach resort has hands down been the nicest beach resort we’ve stayed at in the Philippines. The rooms are spacious and cozy, the food from the restaurant is amazing, and the facilities on site include a private beach, a pool, some walking trails, and an old historic watch tower. There’s plenty to do besides relax and the staff is always willing to lend a hand to help with whatever you need.

Great experience staying here. This resort is a place if you want to disconnect with the regular hustle bustle of your life. The property is beautiful on its own to spend an entire day with an amazing view from the private beach. You can even snorkel and scuba dive as well. You can talk to Lisa about your requirements and she would be glad to give you the best. I must say an amazing host I have ever met. 😊 Also the food is so tasty and fresh, the cocktails are prepared well too.

Great resort with private beach 🏝 and also a nice pool. The food and service are great. Went also for a dive with Mike the owner. So much beautiful coral 🪸 fish and saw 2 turtles. If you look for an idyllic quiet place with great food and service this is your place to be!

We spent 4 days here at the resort as part of our anniversary celebration and we had an amazing time. Lisa and Mike were incredibly thoughtful and make you feel at home immediately and that same attitude is represented in the staff; everyone was incredibly kind and accomodating during our stay. The food and drinks were exceptional - would highly recommend the pancakes and the burger!

One of the things that we really enjoyed was snorkelling around the private reef. To have a private reef so close to you is something you have to take advantage of. Hopefully you'll be lucky like I was and be able to see a turtle on your swim!

Granada was a lovely time away from the city and a place were you can come and relax and be at peace with the surrounding nature.

The staff and management of this little slice of heaven deserve every ounce of recognition. I had booked a stay here just before the pandemic for my partners 40th birthday. They graciously kept changing our dates with each new lock down status here in Australia made. When we finally arrived this year Lisa and Mike had stayed back to welcome us as we were arriving very late. They made us feel like we were staying in their home and not in another resort.

The staff were all amazing and so friendly and made our stay even more enjoyable which is saying a lot where you can go snorkeling straight off the beach with turtles.

I had arrange a private dinner on the beach for my partner and the team at Granada went above and beyond for us. Not only setting up a truly romantic spot but when the rain unexpectedly came had quickly set up an alternate table so we could continue our meal and finish on their famous creme brulee.
The food here is exceptional. On top of their usual menu they have daily specials which are a must to try. I can't speak highly enough of their marinade pork loins!!

The rooms are very nice and the 4 poster bed in our room just added to the experience.

Our original plan was to use this place just for accommodation and go off for tours but we quickly realized that this was the perfect place just kick back and relax. Between the massages, snorkeling off the beach, lounging by the pool and those damn good fresh mango daiquiris we didn't need to go anywhere else. I highly recommend the coconut rum!!!

We will be returning here as often as we can!

We stayed in a 3 -bedroom accommodation for 7 nights here in Jan 2023 and enjoyed our time here immensely. Mike and Lisa were excellent hosts and made our sojourn here feel more of a home than just a hotel. The food was tasty, well-presented and reasonably priced. There was a variety of choices, although the Western items were generally better than the Asian ones, and in particular the pizza, spaghetti and crème brulee were excellent. The rooms were tidy and comfortable. We had completely no issues with the shower, aircon or beds. There was no TV in the room but we were fine with that as we were there for the water activities, not to watch TV which we can always do back home. Moreover, there is great snorkelling at the nearby reef which was just a short swim from the hotel’s private beach. Finally, we must mention the friendliness of the staff, especially Joy and the cleaning staff member who checked our room thoroughly before we checked out and found some stuff we had inadvertently left behind. We will definitely stay here again if we are ever back in the area.

Great resort and beach. Feels as though we had the whole resort to ourselves. Lovely food and staff.
The owners are so nice and accommodating. Rooms are spotless and so well maintained.
Beds are super comfy and have a great aircon.
Bathrooms are thoughtfully designed and so clean.
The pool is perfect.
My favourite is the amazing Coral reef 10 metres directly in front of the resort that wraps around the beach and round the corner. Ive never had such an amazing experience snorkeling before. The amount of sea life and corals was breathtaking. Everyone had a go in our group and loved it. The waters are so calm and protected.
The owners also did a private dinner on the beach for our group that was sensational.
If you're looking for a place to stay that has everything this is it.
They will also help organise transport from Cebu airport or area. Takes about 3 -4 hours but the drive down here was incredible and a great way to see so many interesting and insights into Cebu living.
