The most amazing, most fun, most gracious hosts ever. They cooked and ate with us and we all got along like old friends. Though we were a big group (10 people), they met our needs to the best of their ability. Though it was not at all asked, our hosts volunteered their free time to show us around all the amazing places. The beach side is just absolutely gorgeous. It outlooks onto a wide open vista of water. Sunsets and sunrises are breathtaking. Feel like swimming? The water is warm and pristine. Definitely the best travel stay of my life. Highly recommend

The only thing I regret is not having the chance to extend because of limited vacation time. It was a quick weekend at Hans' beach house. The place is perfect for unwinding and relaxation since it's far from the road. All you'd hear are the waves, the birds and some chicken and dogs from time to time, but they're not noise. I dozed off at the hammock twice and woke up to a lovely view of the sea.

It's great value for money, and perfect place for a getaway, especially for a big group.

Tip: read instructions before getting to the place. It's much easier done than reading it. ;)

A Tranquil, Beautiful, Balanced Getaway

I highly and genuinely recommend staying here! I’ve spent 2 months at the cottage, and will have spent 3.5 months here by the time I leave. My original intention was to stay just for a few weeks, and that turned into a few months because of how much I fell in love with this place.

The Cottage
The cottage is a cozy, clean, and comfortable space with your own bed, work desk, night desk (next to your bed, with drawers and storage), and lamp. Made out of traditional, solid wood and materials, it provides a unique and authentic experience in which to enjoy your stay in the Philippines. The bed is full sized, comfortable, with freshly laundered sheets and soft, comfy pillows. I used the desk to journal, draw out life plans, read, and reflect (there is wifi). The cottage also has a room on the first floor (there are 2 total), which I used to work out in. The cottage itself is surrounded by a beautiful garden and every morning I open the window to see gorgeous, swaying palm trees. Mornings are glorious here.

The bathroom (your own; not shared) has everything I need: a very spacious shower with strong pressure, a toilet and sink. It doesn’t have hot water, but you won’t miss it since you’re in the tropics, where a cool shower is always refreshing.

The cottage sits on a huge lot at the beach. I go to bed listening to the ocean waves relax me to sleep. And I go swimming often, enjoying the nice, clear, turquoise waters. I had many meals, did a lot of reading and relaxing just staring out into space at the beach.

Kitchen Amenities
I did my groceries locally and cooked my meals in the fully-stocked kitchen (pots, pans, utensils, etc). The kitchen is huge and airy and you can see/hear the ocean from it. It's relaxing and fun to cook here.

Peaceful Energy
Besides the awesome accommodations and amenities, the energy of the place kept me here---the perfect place to get away from it all. The property is adorned with coconut and banana trees, all kinds of plants, and flowers. It’s beautiful and well-maintained. Of course, the ocean is healing and peaceful, and it’s a mere footsteps away from your cottage and the huge, communal kitchen. I had many meals, meditations and prayers at the beach. Not to mention swims in the refreshing water. Also,
the host Heather booked a few massages for me and the lady came over and gave me a pampering massage right next to the water. I fell asleep; it was so nice (and reasonably priced).

The Awesome People
I chose to stay here long term in large part because of the people. Hans’ co-host, Heather, is amazing. She’s warm, friendly, kind, informative, and always willing to lend a hand. I’ve certainly become part of the family here. The housekeeper Tina, is always there to help me as well and is so nice! I have a lot of space and time to yourself, but they’re only a few yards away or available by text or call.

Dumaguete City
I chose to stay here because of the balance between a quiet and tranquil getaway and its access to the city, which has a great assortment of international restaurants, cafes, bars, stores and other amenities you might need. It’s easy to get around and everyone is so friendly. Dumaguete is called the “City of Gentle People” for good reason.

Also if you’re interested in cleansing/eating well, there are markets all over the place that sell cheap, nutritious, locally grown veggies and fruits. It also helps that’s there’s always clean water to drink in the kitchen as well. But if you wanna indulge, the options are nearly endless.

Fun Adventures
During this visit, I took day trips to Apo Island (swam with turtles in crystal clear water!), Siquijor Island (where I swung like Tarzan into a gorgeous refreshing lake), and Manjuyod Sandbar (a must-see while you're in the Philippines--the incredibly clear water left me in awe). All of these activities were cheap and a nice balance to hanging out at home a lot.

I intend to come back here and bring friends and family with me. Thank you Heather, Hans and Tina for an incredible visit!

Amazing place, great owner. Heather helped us out to book private tours to manjuyod and apo island. The area is very quiet, the house is super clean and tidy. Great experience

We had an amazing time at the beach house! The hosts spoiled it a little at the end by adding extra charges that were not previously agreed to. But the beach was still amazing

TO ALL TRAVELLERS THAT ARE GOING TO NEGROS ISLAND PHILIPPINES!!!!

DO NOT STAY AT !!! APOVIEW (BEACH HOUSE) the reasons that the place is inaccessible, non lit rocky road, totally not safe for my children. It is basically a false representation since it's not stated in your Ad regarding how inaccessible the place is without a motor vehicle that even bringing a car is impossible to go around and find the exact location. On a side note, it is clearly stated in your house rules that smoking is prohibited but on contrary your staff was smoking in the kitchen area where I'm expected to prepare and eat our meals. As per cleaning, it is unsatisfactory, foul odour smell coming from who knows where. We had to pay the van on top of it for bringing us back to the city. We will file a complaint thru Airbnb and absolutely you don't get any positive review from us. Social media is a big thing and we will make sure you will not get any future business.
I have used Airbnb a lot , and this was the worst !!
