My best friend and I hiked the 4 Day Inca Trail with Llama Path's team. It was an incredible, once in a life time trip that would not have been made possible without the support of Llama Path.
Daniel, our guide, was passionate about the history, sciences, and environment, which gave this trip a level of depth that I'm not sure other tour guides could make. His English is perfect and emotional intelligence was imperative. He knew how to motivate us and build our little family unit of 8 strangers into good friends. He quickly learned our personalities and was able to pick up on what we wanted to do or learn. It also helps that he seems genuinely invested in both us [customers] and his team.
The food was INCREDIBLE. Better than the restaurants in Cusco and Lima. I'm still trying to figure out the crew managed it with camping gear and no "real" kitchen. Due to medications, I had a limited diet on the trip, and they were more than accommodating. We always had more than enough to eat and drink.
The entire Llama Path crew was incredibly friendly, funny, and polite. They humored my poor Spanish and always made us feel comfortable. I felt safe around our team. It was fun to hear them hanging out or playing at the end of the day when all the work was over. They got along and enjoyed their time together, which was comforting after a long day hiking.
The ethical stand point: Other porters on the trail had massive packs, wore back braces, were sprinting in SANDALS, and looked miserable. The Llama path team had proper boots, matching pants, and jackets to protect them from the elements [also made it easier to point out our group among the others]. The team moved together as a pack, which again shows the wonderful environment present at Llama Path. The company takes care of the guys and the local community, which was comforting after seeing other porters.

I honestly cannot imagine a better experience, and it is all due to the hard work and integrity of Llama Path.

This is the most fabulous tour company in Peru! I did the 4D/3N Inca Trek with them in December 2015. Their customer service & booking procedures were smooth & effective. The professionalism, attitude, & genuine helpfulness of the guides & porters on our trek (16 trekkers, 3 guides, 22 porters) was OUTSTANDING. Llama Path came to me as a recommendation, so I didn't do much shopping around for prices, but I can say that Llama Path stands out on the trail. They outfit their porters, give them a comfortable place to stay, & a safe ride to the start of the Inca Trek. They also have a media center just outside of Cusco for kids and families to use. Other companies just don't do all those things. The men who get you to your dream destination should be treated the way Llama Path treats their porters!
We also did a 4 hour City Tour with them, outsourced to a partner guide company, which was also wonderful. But that Inca Trail with Llama Path, that one won my heart over!

Best experience of my life thus far! I went on the Lares trek with one of my best friends and we had such a great time. The tour guide and porters were so friendly and attentive to our needs. Our trip was full of laughter and smiles, so choose llama path and you will have the time of your life! Also, another important reason to support Llama Path is that their porters are treated very well. I highly recommend checking out their website and booking with them! Words can't describe how badly I want to go back to Peru!

I realize that there are many companies in the area who proved a similar service but I truly feel that I had the absolute BEST experience possible hiking the 2 day Inca Trail with Llama Path. Coco and Pepe were the most attentive and kind guides imaginable. Aside from being extremely professional and fun, they both had a passion for the Trail and Incan culture. I learned so much and had an amazing experience. Choose Llama Path, you won't regret it!

My family and I did a 4 day Inca pilgrimage trip to Machu Picchu with Aiben from Llamapath. It was the experience of a life time! Their crew took such excellent care of my little boys and myself and made the experience worry free. The food, attention received, company and information was amazing. I have never felt so well taken care of. Highly recommend any trip with them!

My husband and I did the Inca Trail of 2 days on 18-19th September 2018.
It was amazing. Walking through the Andes was unique and seeing finally Machu Picchu after a day of walk was really astonishing!
Juan Jose, our guide, explained so many things about Inca culture and Machu Picchu the next day I will definitely go buy some book about Inca once home!
Thank you Llama Path for this great experience!

Took care of every detail on our 4 day Inca Trail treck. The food Chef Ronaldo managed to prepare at camp was amazing. We were really well looked after by our guides and the poters did everything with a smile on their face. Thank you Llama Path for a great trip.

BEYOND AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!

Passion, professionalism, compassion and support are just a few words to describe the experience with Llama Path. From the moment of first contact they made the journey memorable. Their foundation begins with the respect of the porters and translates to the respect of your journey, the land and the history.

Couple other comments:
The food is amazing
They make camping "easy"
Casiano and Irving were amazing guides!!!!!!!

I participated (attempted) in the 3 night 4 day trek to Machu Picchu. I had both a lead guide, Elvis H., and an assistant guide, David P. And my porter was Rosalio. The reason I wrote "(attempted)" is because I experienced the misfortune of getting very sick while on the trail due to succumbing to altitude sickness. I found out the hard way that I needed more than the recommended 3-4 days to get acclimatized before the hike. This would usually be the moment in the story when one talks about having a horrible experience in this sort of situation. But, for me, the opposite occurred. I was feeling sick even before we arrived at the starting point for the hike. And realized soon after getting off the bus that I would be in store for a rough experience. Despite this understanding, and being very stubborn, I continued with the hike. Within the first few hours of the hike, I was suffering so much David (the assistant guide) carried my day pack for me. I had a horrible migraine, dizziness, and nausea. I couldn't keep my lunch down when we arrived at the lunch spot and had to rest. Despite all of my woes and complaints, Both Elvis and David were very kind, professional, and extremely helpful in how they handled the situation. Both advised me to do what was best for my health. And Elvis informed me of how to meet the group in Machu Picchu if I was able to recuperate, and decide to rejoin the group. He also advised my porter to look after me so he and David could return to the group of 11 remaining participants. My porter, Rosalio did an amazing job of seeing that I got back to Ollantaytambo in one piece. While at the place I camped the night I got sick, he constantly checked on me. Brought me food and tea, but also allowed me to rest. While on the trail back, he kept with my pace and also checked to see if I needed rest. Especially after doing the somewhat steep climb out of the valley. He was even checking the rear view mirror while we were in the van to Ollantaytambo, and made sure I was settled in and had a place to stay for the night. With limited English and Spanish between the two of us, it worked out. I recognize that helping me back to Ollantaytambo was part of his job, but how he treated me is what is most important. He was very, very kind to me. I met met with my group in Machu Picchu, and had an amazing time. I regret missing out on the hike because Elvis did quite well in explaining the Inca history, and the stories of the ruins to us. I usually get extremely bored in these situations, but he was very engaging. Llama Path hired three great guys - Elvis, David, and Rosalio. Not mention, everything was well organized, the food that I was able to eat was amazing, and overall all who were apart of making the trek possible were in good spirits the entire time I was there. For this reason, I plan to go back to Peru and use Llama Path to attempt the hike a second time.

Best hike and experience doing the 3 night/ 4 day. Guides porters and food on this trip was amazing. I'm from Alaska and didn't realize how hot and humid this place can get while hiking. I did get heat stroke and lost a lot of salt and electric lights out of my body, even though I was drinking 2+ liters of water, the first day of hike. But was able to recover with the help of the staff and other hikers and able to push on to 2 and 3 day of hike where it was much cooler. Make sure you bring electric light replacements and buy gator aid from locals on the trail plus all the water you must drink. And spend 2 nights at aguas calienta. That way if too exhausted to see all of Machu Picchu the day you arrive, you can come back and than hike Wayne Picchu.

I did the Lares trail and Machu Picchu with LlamaPath in 2016.
The cook, guide, organisation and food where top notch.
As a company I'd use them again for sure.

(I'd not do their current Lares trail as its not long enough [2.25 days], and is missing a lunch stop on day2. Day3 is 2.5 hours in a mini bus and 1.5 on the train. Day4 is MP and back to Cusco.
Personally I'd want two nights in AQ so I had a full day at MP)

Best tour company for the Incan trail. Extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and cool tour guides. Hardest working porters in the game. World class team.
