We came to Lima with a cruise and pre-booked a day tour and an evening tour, for both we pre-paid part of the cost.
When arriving at the Miraflores (the Cruise drop off) we looked for someone with our name as promised - we walked up and down the area, stayed for two more buses to arrive and being close to the bus exist - we couldn't see anyone and we both looked around for a sign with our name. As we didn't had a local data plan we also couldn't phone. Once back on the cruise ship I contacted Jhony and got told that the guy waited for us- so we texted back and forth to make sure that someone will wait for us with a visible sign when we come for the evening tour. Once we arrived we looked and looked and no sign after walking and looking for 10 Min my husband discovered a guy with a folded white piece of paper so he went over and asked and he had our sign all folded up - it was not visible. We were not happy at all as I do not think it is up to us to ask everyone.
Also he wanted us to pay the whole earlier tour where we couldn't find him - we were quiet upset.
I would recommend everyone coming on a cruise: go off talk to the local guys, there are a lot of really nice taxi guys around who will do a similar trip for half the money - the only difference is that they won't give you all the historical background and info - but if you can look this up on yourself you will have a lot of fun.
