I recently embarked on a breathtaking horseback ride to the Temple of the Moon, and it was an experience that left me in awe. The journey itself was as enchanting as the destination, with the majestic Andean scenery unfolding before my eyes.

The Temple of the Moon stands as a testament to the rich history and spirituality of Cusco. Nestled amidst the mountains, the temple offers a serene and mystical atmosphere that captivates the soul. Riding out to it on horseback added an extra layer of adventure and excitement.

The panoramic views of Cusco from the temple are nothing short of spectacular. The ancient ruins against the backdrop of the Andes create a scene that feels like a journey back in time. It's a photographer's paradise, with every angle providing a postcard-worthy shot.

I highly recommend the Temple of the Moon to anyone visiting Cusco. Whether you're a history enthusiast, nature lover, or simply seeking a unique adventure, this sacred site is a must-visit. Riding to the temple on horseback only heightened the magic of the journey, making it an unforgettable memory that will stay with me forever.

I stumbled across this when walking down from Tambomachay.
Incredible experience, I highly recommend walking the countryside here. There are many hidden gems (ruins) along the way and this one did not disappoint.

Really interesting site to visit that has a 20ish minute walk to get to from the main road. Lovely landscape well worth the walk.

I highly suggest to take a guide to explain the symbolism and meaning of the area, otherwise it won't mean much.

The energy here is quite different compared to the Sun temple and i suggest seeing and experiencing both to compare them.

Came to the Temple of the Moon on Horseback with a guide that only spoke Spanish and Quechua, thankfully my Spanish is good enough to understand the history behind the place.

A neat place to visit, and we explored the temple, the rest of the site, and caves in the area.

No entrance fee. Trek to the top, not too hard on the lungs. Views, stunning beyond words.

Interesting place, quiet, free. Mostly visited by locals that spend the afternoon there, totally recommended if you want to visit a different place. About 1 hour walking from downtown or you can take a taxi also

A magical place with 360 views of natural wonder. Worth spending half a day there. Bring a lunch and enjoy the area. I've been told it's not safe at night as there are wild dogs and occasionally petty thief's in the area.

It was a great location very picturesque and our guide was very knowledgeable about the Spanish and Inca heritage. The sight isn't very large and will only take an hour max to see and climb.

Old Inca temple in a beautiful landscape. Magical place. Less touristy than many other locations. A calm, magical place. Great city views. Great possibilities for further hiking and horse riding. The entrance is gratis. Together with hiking may spend well a full day here :)

Really interesting place. Highly recommend visiting. It's also free. There are also options to take horses and ride around the area as well as many alpacas and llamas grazing. There have been reports of robberies occurring here and people are advised to travel in groups. If this is a concern and you can only travel solo, visit on a weekend where they'll be other people around like I did. I felt very safe and able to explore unscathed.

The place itself is beautiful. There's a horseback excursion that includes this stop. I don't recommend riding horses as they are not well cared for. Horses hey are malnourished and in poor health. They are improperly shoed. Water wasn't visible anywhere before or after rides. Horses definitely exploited. We booked a half day ride, but we requested to return very early into the ride.
