Iquitos Square

Pleasant square surrounded by historic and important buildings.

This is an amazing square to relax and enjoy the environment. This area really comes to life at night with vendors, artists and many locals coming out to socialize once tye Sun goes down

Main square in Iquitos. It is is called The Plaza Del Armas Del Iquitos, right in the center of downtown, great catholic church that operates many time per week. It is very beautiful at night after the sun has set. Good place to go to visit with people.

Central point, You can spend days wondering around seeing new things all the time.
Don't miss the shop with genuine Amazonian artwork! It is a must. If You're hungry I recommend Ari's or Texas.
Don't forget to walk to boulevard and anaconda.
Viva la Iquitos!

Very popular local city park especially weekends and holidays. Plenty of street vendors adding to the nice and friendly Iquiteño atmosphere. Enjoy it.

Sure bet for buying popcorn. Really pretty at night. Can catch the tourist train there. On Sundays they make it a pedestrian area for a bit.

It's at Iquitos' downtown, around here you can find nice buildings like the cathédral, the double tree hôtel, and the Iron house, it's a quiet place for taking a walk or Just Lay down and relax 😉

We stayed in a hotel on the town square and found a blend of buildings in the area dating from the period when Peru was a major supplier of the world's rubber. There is one Rubber Barron's building which was fabricated out of iron in France and shipped to Iquitos for assembly.

Relatively clean, plenty to see, and good for a relaxing visit. On weekends the fountains are running which makes for a more vibrant atmosphere and there are typically ice cream vendors and others selling their goods. Fun place to spend some time.

I love Iquitos! The food, the people. Go and enjoy this beautiful city. Bring a lot of coins to take the motorcars 😉

Left a little piece of my heart in Iquitos. It's all a bit of a whirlwind, but, I loved this little square and had some fascinating chats with all sorts of people. Of course people are trying to sell their wares and you should keep an eye on your belongings, but, learn a little Spanish and keep your wits about you and there's nothing to fear. Riding around in the tuktuks is ridiculously cheap and so much fun. You can pretty much go anywhere local for 4 soles.

Beautiful place to share a moment in family or friends later that you can go to visit others places or stores around the plaza.

Very nice and secure place to hang out at evenings. Close to everything.

After a couple weeks it was starting to grow on me.... LOL the people are wonderful and there's lots to do

Very popular place to gather for the community, and very near to lots of great restaurants and scenic overlooks. I met many great local people who I remain in contact with long after my visit to Iquitos.
