Yes, it's a stone of the foundation of a slightly more modern building. However, you can't help but to wonder how in the world did the Inca's figured this out so many years ago. The craftsmanship here is definitely amazing and stood the test of time. Street itself is easy to find and not so busy depending on the time of the day.

A “must see”when you are in Cusco!
It is a fine example of the expertise in stone carving that the Incans were famous for.
It is also known as the “7 sided stone”.

Impressive wall. You immediately notice massive stones at crazy varieties of angles, and they're stacked so tight naturally. Very impressive.

The twelve angled stone is super old and can be found in this cool Inca wall. It's like, a big deal in Andean culture 'cause it's all about perfection and stuff. People in Cusco really love this stone and consider it a big part of their history and culture. The stone is like, super advanced for its time, with all these anti-earthquake features and stuff. But, like, the story behind it can be a bit confusing. So, it used to be part of the Inca Roca palace, but then the Spanish came and built a fancy colonial building on top of it. Later, it became a museum and the Archbishop's Palace. Nowadays, everyone's all obsessed with this massive wall and it's, like, one of the top things to see and take pictures of in Cusco. So cool!

Walking in the streets of Cusco you come across these stone walls with a very high precision cuts. It's just unbelievable the work these people have done. This stone in particular has 12 sides and others stones are places aside and well fitted. These people were masters .

Best to go during off hours, the busyness of the area can make it difficult to appreciate the engineering precision. A very cool and solid reminder of the advanced skill of indigenous peoples.

Nice place to visit, recommend going during the day so you can better appreciate the twelve angle rock. During the pandemic there was regular quantity of people walking the narrow passage, nothing to worry about because people respect the social distance and use masks. Lots of stores to buy souvenirs too. Prices are little bit high tho. Oh and usually you can find someone dressed like inka to take pictures with

Quite uncommon stone that you should visit while you walk around the city... It is really close to the main plaza so it won't take more than a few minutes to get there. Just bear in mind, do not get distracted by people as they might try to sell you everything! Nice to visit it during the day or night.

The Twelve-Angled Stone, located in Cusco, Peru, is a remarkable example of Inca stonemasonry and a must-see for history and architecture enthusiasts. Here's a short review:

The Twelve-Angled Stone, or "Piedra de los Doce Ángulos" in Spanish, is an awe-inspiring testament to the Inca civilization's architectural prowess. Nestled within the walls of Cusco's historic district, this intricately carved stone is a true marvel.

What makes this stone so extraordinary is its impeccable craftsmanship and the precision with which it fits into the surrounding wall. The twelve angles on the stone fit seamlessly with the adjoining stones, creating a puzzle-like effect that leaves visitors in awe of the Inca builders' skills.

Visiting the Twelve-Angled Stone is like taking a step back in time, as it offers a tangible connection to the rich history of Cusco and the Inca Empire. The surrounding neighborhood, with its narrow cobblestone streets and colonial architecture, adds to the charm and historical ambiance of the area.

While the stone itself is not a massive attraction, its historical and cultural significance makes it a compelling stop for travelers exploring Cusco. It's often a focal point for guided city tours, where knowledgeable guides share the fascinating stories and legends associated with this remarkable piece of Inca history.

In summary, the Twelve-Angled Stone in Cusco is a small but significant piece of Inca architecture that showcases the incredible precision and craftsmanship of the Inca civilization. It's a must-see for those interested in history and culture and adds to the overall charm of Cusco's historic district.

Impressive. Also interesting to know, that when you are looking for good prices for souvenirs there is a shop straight across from the stone. Lowest prices we have seen.

Beautiful work on this wall. The street itself is a beauty. One of the best souvenirs stores in town is right across the stone as well.

If you are someone whom loves looking at detailed and amazing construction methods you will love this place. I question whether this is truly Inka construction as it is much more refined stone work than most inka construction.

It is an easy access beginning for all refine stone work if inkans. In pisac there are similar versions of this fine work in larger areas.

Cool spot to visit while in Cusco. Nothing difficult about getting there and it's free to see. Lots of cool history involved here. You'll most likely have to fight through lots of tourists looking to get the "gram".

It’s an amazing block structure requiring some highly intelligent planning engineering and construction to fabricate and set the stone in place. It’s not a must see, but it’s so easy to get to from the main plaza that you should see and appreciate this construction marvel. And take a quick photo while you’re there. Sometimes there are independent guides around there asking if you like their guides services.
