D & M Travel Adventure

The head of DyM, Marco, reflects customer service to the best extent imaginable. There was an issue with our guide, whom was not able to join us for the 2d/1n tour of the Colca Canyon. Marco found solutions last minute and kindly offered compensatory measures to keep us satisfied. We were joined to another group with another guide, and we had a great time. The tour itself was fantastic, with unique views of the valley. We spent the night at a lodge in the valley's oasis. The morning of the second day is fairly tough physically, with a climb of 1100m in only 3 hours. The breakfast upon arrival felt like Godsent. Thank you Marco for organizing and thank you Marcos (our guide) for the tour.

PS: do take mosquitoes seriously during the trek. Both at the lodge and the thermal waters on the second day, it can be a nightmare. Take repellant and cover yourself.

I had two experiences in a row with D&M; all were fantastic. 1) our guide that brought us up to see the condors was super kind, amiable and very knowledgeable. 2) Our bus driver, Marco, who brought us from Chivay to Puno was an absolute star. When we arrived in Puno me and my wife were slightly lost and he took extra care to make sure we found our way. D&M, you’re fantastic!

We found out about Marco Antonio and DyM Travel Adventure thanks to a friend. We made the 2D/1N tour and everything was super nice and well organized! Our guide Madeleine and driver Jesus have been very nice and attentive, explaining many things and giving tips! The agency itself also organized our tour from Chivay to Puno on the second day! Communication via mail/whatsapp was easy and quick! Highly recommended!

L'agence est très professionnelle. Marco Antonio est une personne passionnée par sa région et qui aime la faire découvrir. Il est aux petits soins avec ses clients.

Magnifique trek dans le canyon de Colca, sur 3 jours et 2 nuits, avec notre guide, Paul, absolument parfait. Nous avons pu voir et apprendre beaucoup tout au long de la marche, il a été super patient, intéressant et gentil. Les hébergements étaient super, la nourriture excellente ! On recommande à 100%! Attention aux coups de soleils, et la montée et raide. Mais que du bonheur !

Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit den Leistungen von Marco. Klare Empfehlung. Er weiss viel über Land, Natur und Leute und bemüht sich sehr ein gutes Erlebnis zu bieten.

Wir haben die Wanderung 2 Tage/1 Nacht ins Colca Tal gemacht. Wir empfehlen zuerst eine Nacht in Chivay zu übernachten und nicht um 3 Uhr von Arequipa aus loszufahren. So kann man ausschlafen und der Körper kann sich an die Höhe gewöhnen. Zudem ist das authentische und schön gelegene Chivay wirklich eine Übernachtungen Wert. Im Anschluss an die Wanderung haben wir auch bei Marco den Transport von Chivay nach Puno gebucht.

Eccezionale esperienza a Chivay. Marco Antonio parla un ottimo italiano (lo abbiamo scoperto durante il viaggio). Competente e simpatico ci ha fatto scoprire la regione. Da raccomandare assolutamente.

Marco Antonio ist unfassbar hilfreich und organisiert alles nur erdenkliche und mehr. Sehr empfehlenswert ist die Tour mit Pferden, aber auch der Transport in andere Städte und andere Aktivitäten können geplant werden. Alles fand immer wie vereinbart und pünktlich statt! Sehr empfehlenswert!

We did the 2D/1N Colca canyon trip. The pick-up at the hotel, breakfast and trekking were well arranged. Beautiful views on the canyon and nice explanation of our guide, Marisol. Arriving at the stop for lunch was also good!

However, when we arrived at the place to sleep, we were very disappointed. The room was horrifying. Bed sheets with a lot of stains: all kinds of colour, even red (blood?!). To be honest is this below our expectations and we wonder why the tour costs so much if this is the room you get.

The next day we had a wonderful hike back up the canyon. Super! But then it quickly turned around. We got onto the bus ‘back home’ but this turned into a long day full of tourist traps: dropped off at the hot springs for an hour where we were surprised that it was only this. A few pools with many people in it. Definitely not what we expected. Then to Chivay, where we were dropped off at a buffet restaurant a few blocks out of the city center. Stops with the bus and at every point people who try to sell you things. Overall this last day felt like one big tourist trap. Even when we were dropped off back in Arequipa, it was not in the city center. ‘Go to the left and find your way back yourself’.

Llevamos más de 20 días de viaje en Perú y esta ha sido, sin lugar a dudas, la peor experiencia de todas. Todo, de principio a fin, ha sido un despropósito:
1) El transporte hasta el Cañón era lamentable, con asientos en los que no entraban las piernas.

2) El guía que nos asignaron para la excursión jamás ejerció como tal. Además, se empeñó en hacer todas las explicaciones en inglés cuando claramente no tenía el nivel para hacerlo. Imposible entender nada.

3) El hotel en el que hicimos la noche no era el que se nos había indicado previamente, con unas instalaciones y habitaciones que no se correspondían en absoluto con las fotos que nos habían enviado.

4) La calidad y cantidad de los desayunos y comidas incluidas en la excursión eran lamentables, por no mencionar que, para redondear esta "increíble" experiencia, en el desayuno incluido en el último día de excursión, el guía nos llevó a desayunar a su casa! Alucinante...

5) Como colofón final, después de ese desayuno en su casa, el guía ya no nos acompañó más en las actividades restantes contratadas. Nos metió en el autobús y el se quedó en su casa.

Si estáis buscando hacer la excursión al Cañón del Colca, hacedlo con cualquier otra compañía. Nunca he visto peor servicio que el de esta compañía.

Una decepción. Mala organización, cambio de alojamiento sin notificación, todo montado para sacar dinero extra y el guía un pasota. Sin duda buscaría otra compañía, la lonely planet la recomendaba pero claramente algo ha cambiado…
