Toños Café Bakery

Stopped in for coffee as our hotel had horrible coffee. Tonos has the best coffee I have had in Panama so far. Highly recommend. Strong flavour!

Toños and cafe bakery in the Plaza el Sol is a new, welcome addition to the area. It was on our daily commute and very convenient.

Coffee:

The coffee (lattes and cortados) were the best we had during our stay in Panamá.

Food:

Food items that we sampled were sandwiches, empanadas, flapjacks, açaí bowls, and salmon eggs Benedict. In general, I would recommend the ready-prepared items; the sandwich, in particular, was very good, and you can see what you’re getting.

Our one attempt to order off the menu (on a quiet morning) was a disaster. It took 45 minutes for one açaí bowl and one order of eggs Benedict to arrive. And, my husband declared the eggs Benedict the worst ever: no Hollandaise (despite it being called out on the menu) and two pieces of dry toast as a substitute for the potatoes. The açaí bowl was very nice, but after a 45 minute wait, I didn’t have time to eat it.

Ambience:

Very nice, like a modern cafe anywhere, with international pricing too. Clean restrooms. Lots of parking.

Tip:

Don’t trust the Google-posted hours. Although this entry on Google says the cafe is open everyday from 7 am, we were disappointed to discover that it was closed at 7:45 am on a Saturday.

El red velvet no se sentía fresco. La infusión god father 100% recomendada.

El café es lo máximo

Mi experiencia fue buena, pero debo recalcar en lo siguiente. Si bien es cierto es un área exclusiva y donde no hay paisajes deprimentes ni las típicas aguas negras, ni la basura a tutiplen que uno ve en la ciudad de Colón, los precios son sumamente elevados. Y tienen otra panadería al lado. Fui una sola vez y creo que solamente regresaré por los cuernitos de pan. Una vez al mes.
