Librería Cultural Panameña

This little hole-in-the-wall Library is almost a secret place. It’s hard to find, since the address on google maps might some times take you to another place in Via España, but no. Keep your eyes peeled for the sign.

Inside, you’ll find treasures from all over the 20th century. Some really old editions of books written by Panamanians and international authors alike. As well as some modern fiction in English.

This is the perfect place to get a gift for your family or just be transported to 1950.
The staff is extremely nice and can help you find any book. For example, I wanted a photo book on Guna Yala, and they found me over 10 different options. Say hello to them from me!

Amazing range of books. The staff were able to locate exactly what I was interested in and gave some suggestions that turned out to be perfect. If you're in the area deop in and take a look. The prices were great, too.

I was looking for some recreational reading material in English. That's not the main thing they have here, but I was happy to find that they do have a small selection of used novels and I bought a paperback and a hardcover both for $8.
Most of what they have here are legal texts written in Spanish. It looks like there are some things that might be useful to non-professionals as well as attorneys.
The store is small, clean and well organized and the staff are friendly and helpful.
There were available parking spaces outside the store.

My favorite bookstore in Panamá, if you're looking for old books, this is the place, I love it. On another note, take into account that almost every book is in Spanish.

La atención es personalizada por el dueño. Te orienta sobre autores y temas. Es muy educado, sencillo. Aplica el descuento de la tercera edad y tienen una cantidad de libros, que no te puedes imaginar. Voy por uno, y salgo con varios.

Excelente librería en calidad de material y trato muy cordial de todas las personas que trabajan allí. Un imperdible, voy siempre qie paso por allí (a pasos del metro Santo Tomás). Única librería que conozco que venden tanto material nuevo como libros antiguos. Se necesitan más librerías de libros antiguos en Panamá y cuyo personal se desviva por ayudarte con tanto agrado como hacen en la cultural panameña. Muy profesionales.

Excelente atención, el propietario y todo su personal es muy atento y servicial. No cuentan con estacionamiento sin embargo en diagonal, desde calle 2da Perejil.
