We were staying nearby, so not at the hotel, and stopped over for dinner. We had the Caesar salad, pulled pork, fish, tacos, and shrimp in butter. All four were outstanding. The whole dinner was great. Beautiful ambience and lighting outside. Relaxed vibes, super friendly host. It was really awesome. And a highlight of our trip.

This sweet space in San Carlos is really worth the stop. We looked at the reviews for bigger resorts that were more expensive in the area, and the reviews scared us off. This place is just great in its attention to detail, the food, the comfortable rooms, and the proximity to the beach. I had the sea bass stuffed with shrimp for our last night here and it was hands down the best meal I’ve had in months. The beer is excellent, the drinks are good…definitely come here for dinner even if you can’t get a reservation to stay.❤

We came to see a band play (Jim Votow) and stayed the night at the hotel. They didn't have diet coke which I thought was strange since there's a lot of expats. The service however was excellent.

The hotel room was nice. The beds at first felt a little stiff but surprisingly we had an excellent night's sleep. The rooms appear to block out a considerable amount of sound. We had a family with three young boys next door but didn't hear anything not even the music that was playing at other hotels.

The breakfast was delicious. Fresh hot and strong coffee and nice sized pancakes. The young man serving us was very nice and helpful.

I loved this place. I thought it was the perfect balance of rustic beach with the right amenities. The rooms were very comfortable, large, and clean, and I liked the art & photographs on the walls. Bathrooms were also large and clean, with reliable hot water. AC did it's job and cable TV with HBO was a nice option. The February weather was perfect for us so we spent very little time inside, but in the rainy season that would make a nice option. The food was amazingly good, and the bar was very well stocked with a range of Panamanian craft beers. Breakfast was especially good and filling, which was perfect for a morning of surfing and swimming. The owners and staff were also great; friendly and helpful. There was always someone available who spoke English, too, for those that need it. I'm looking forward to our next visit!

Had a great stay. The owners, Ivan and Mafe take very good care of there guests. Also helped me find a realtor connection during my stay. Quietly tucked at the end of the road for privacy, and a quick walk down the street to the beach was very convenient.

100% recommend the Manglar Lodge to anyone looking for a relaxing trip outside the city. The staff was extremely friendly and willing to accommodate. The food and beer selection is fantastic with a great atmosphere. Beach access is very close and has great surfing.

Very cute and quaint spot. I was there for a day for surf lessons and a photo shoot. I had a late lunch there afterwards(fish tacos). The owner was super friendly and all the people I encountered there were very welcoming.

TLDR - surf, beer, food, awesome!

We stayed here for one night and couldnt have asked for a better spot on our way back to the city. They have a couple of surf spots and rental shops within a very short walk if you want to walk the beaches. They also have an awesome Panamanian craft beer selection and i did my best to try them all. We ate lunch dinner and then breakfast the following morning. All the food was tasty and reasonably priced. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The hosts were great and service was nice across the board. Would definitely recommend this place.

I ate here Last night, was walking through the small surf town and there it was, a very nice lodge with a massive restaurant. I got myself some paprika shrimp.... it was delicious.. so I would recommend to come and chill here for a good dinner. Lots of space so don't worry about covid-19

We had the best dinner at the Lodge! It was a quiet Sunday night and the owners of the hotel/restaurant were so friendly and outgoing. We had the chef’s special for dinner which was a ribeye taco. It was unbelievable. Finally found a place that serves appropriate sized tacos. There was a great craft beer selection and the owner’s knowledge of the beers was helpful in selecting which one to try. The lodge is just off the beach and the beautiful garden patio made for a perfect date night. My only regret is that we were staying at an Airbnb down the street. I would have much rather stayed at the Lodge. Would recommend this place over many of the other restaurants in the area. Can’t say enough good things about it.

Its a very nice place. Calm & quiet. The craft beer suggested by lady owner absolutly fantastic. We try veggie Burger recomended by Carlos, guide from anton Valley n fresh tuna offer by lady owner as she Just bring it from local market. N it was so tasty. We enjoy the meal n first of all conversation with lady owner, who is friendly, nice, a real host.

Good location a favourite for breakfast and a stroll on the beach at El Palmar. Also stayed in one of the rooms for a few nights, good size, clean and some great photos on the wall taken by the owner who are great people. Highly recommended.

We had a great time staying at The Manglar. It's clean, comfortable, affordable, and the restaurant is great. The beach is nearby and everyone in town is friendly. We had a great little vacation.
