My experience at Habla Ya Spanish School in Panama City, Panama was Excellente! Professor Stehpany is a wonderful teacher with a great personality! She provided my one-on-one lessons and set daily objectives that allowed me to get the most out of my 2 week stay. She made the class so much fun! I am now much more confident in speaking Spanish and definitely will continue learning. The other staff at the school were also very friendly and offered several activities to help students experience Panama.

I took the group class for three months with Habla Ya. My instructor Ana is a top-notch Spanish teacher equipped with abundant teaching experience and impressive comprehension skills facing students with diverse language and cultural backgrounds. She prepared well for the classes and explained all grammatical points clearly and precisely. What is also worth mentioning is Ana has an amazing personality and great smile which lighted up the classes simply by showing up. Within the three-month intensive training, I made some considerable progress, which was very satisfying. The result of the final test exceeded expectations too. Will definitely consider continuing with the next level of Spanish study with Habla Ya in the future.

I recently completed a three month course at the new Panama City campus location of Habla Ya. I have known about them for quite some time and have a lot of friends who have studied at the Boquete campus. When I moved to the city and read about their Expat Special I knew it was finally time. They were offering a great rate and a convenient location. Also, I had started to study Spanish more times then I could count and it was very helpful that they place you with people at your own level. The classes were organized and challenging but still fun. I would like to give a shout out to my main teacher Sergio who was both patient and professional. Classes were varied and kept interesting through the use of videos, songs, and even games. I had a few classes with Ruth and she was delightful as well!

I've taken forever to write this as I've wanted to be sure I do the school enough justice.

I spent my first two weeks out of four in Panama City and started knowing absolutely NO Spanish - NADA! Prior to my arrival, the school had sent me all the information I needed to settle in with my host family and local area - great start.

I was lucky enough to experience both a group setting and 1to1. The second student in my class was only here for four days, so I the had 6 lessons alone with my teacher. Which leads me onto the most important part of my review - my teacher. Stella. An AMAZING teacher, person and woman. As well as teaching me the standard syllabus teachings, we would have long conversations about life, my time in Panama etc etc and I feel this helped me greatly and enabled me to gain confidence. As well as being a great teacher, she is so funny and full of life. I thought I would dread 4 hours of one to one classes, but I looked forward to every one, because she made them so interesting. I cannot applaud her enough and will never forget her.

The ONLY disadvantage of the Panama City campus is the group classes being from 2-6 or 1-5 or so (Can't remember). This made it really hard to do any activities in the morning or early afternoon as you'd have to rush back for class. Also, it's MEGA HOT at this time and I'd always arrive at school sweating thanks to my 15 minute up hill walk.

All in all though - excellent school. Perfect administration. The girls at reception are doing a stellar job. They would often pretend they couldn't speak English in an attempt to encourage us to speak Spanish. Thank you ladies!

On February 2017, My wife and I spent two weeks at Habla Ya, one week in Panama City and one in Boquete. Both weeks were fantastic! The teachers are lively and make the work very interesting. We both added an extra hour each day for 1:1 time with a teacher. This turned out to be an excellent idea. I highly recommend this to anyone considering Habla Ya.

Also, we did a " homestay" with a family in each location. This too was a wonderful experience, especially in Panama City.

While it was only two weeks of Spanish lessons with Habla Ya, it was 50 hours well spent and has motivated us to continue our learning.

I had an amazing time in Panama city. For two weeks I had private lessons with Sergio. He was a very enthusiastic teacher and really wanted me to improve my spanish. He focused on my needs and was very patient. The staff was very helpful too. There were also activities which they offer to spend the spare time in the city. I really enjoyed the time being there and I can recommend the school.

We had five great weeks in Panama City! The group lessons were cool and our small group lessons with Ana were tough but great, so we took advantage of learning fast. If you want to take even more advantage we recommend to stay in a family, so you have to speak spanish. At the end we were ready to travel through Central- and South America, thanks to Habla Ya and their teachers!

I just spent 5 weeks at Habla Ya in Panama City, going from B2 into the lower part of C1. I have to say I had an incredible time, and was able to quickly improve my spanish. I believe this was only possible because the teachers were able to make me truly feel comfortable and thus explore how I would actually use the language in day to day life. While I can’t speak for all the teachers, I can say that Jesus is beyond fun and patient, Ana’s optimism allows you to laugh and grow with each mistake and Stella is basically the cool mom you need to survive abroad. 10/10 for the quality of the teachers who made the learning fun.

I took 8 weeks of group Spanish classes. The school tries really hard to meet every students needs. After the first week you are asked to fill out a short review about how comfortable you are in your class and with your teacher. My teacher was Ana, she was super nice and an awesome teacher. I started on the A1 level (no Spanish) and she got me on level B1(conversational Spanish) within 8 weeks. Ana was able to work with the little knowledge I had of Spanish and increase my knowledge through a variety of grammar, reading, and writing exercises in class. Additionally, Ana always tries to connect these tasks with real life Spanish experiences. Within the those 8 weeks, Ana was able to allow myself and our class with a variety of excursions to the Smithsonian, the mall and a bunch of restaurants to practice my Spanish in public. Overall, this was one of the best experience I have had while learning a new language and I would definitely recommend this school and Ana to anyone that is wanting to learn Spanish in a real world setting.

I wanted to improve my Spanish language skills and took a 3 week intensive class at Habla Ya Panama City. It was a great experience. The teachers are professional, patient, kind and helpful and the 3 weeks flew by. I continue to take private classes with Sergio to further improve my Spanish. Highly recommend Habla Ya for learning Spanish.

I spent four weeks studying at HablaYa while living in Panama City and the experience was fantastic. Ezequiel , my teacher and Director of the Panama school (I believe) , is unbelievably passionate about teaching and making sure all the students at the school are getting the best experience possible. He is an incredibly enthusiastic and patient person (essential qualities as a teacher!) and always had time for his students when they needed help - both inside and outside of the classroom. The school has activities - including salsa classes, film nights and sightseeing - organised on every single night of the week, and everything is done with a smile. Overall an amazing experience, and I cannot recommend the school or Ezequiel highly enough.

I took 4 weeks of classes at Habla Ya Panama City. Stephany, the instructor of my group class, is a great teacher! Stephany is super supportive and patient— she creates a positive learning environment. Her class is fast-paced, so you learn a lot very quickly. At the same time, she is very thorough and clear in her instruction of the material. Highly recommend taking a class with her! My private instructor Yarixel is also a great teacher! Her teaching is equally clear and thorough— she really takes the time to further explain material and make the necessary corrections for you to improve.

I studied during one month in the school Habla Ya of Panama City. I had a great time there and learned a lot! The school is well located, in a safe area and close to public transportation. The staff and the teachers are very friendly and helpful.
The spanish course was very well structured, I could improve my speaking, writing and grammar, and noticed the improvement day after day!
There is a different activity program offered every week and for each day which includes visits of the city, dinners, movies, etc...Thanks to the activity program, I could meet other students and got to know better the city and the panamanian culture.
I really recommend this school if you are looking for quality and fun in Panama City!

Wonderful experience. Course design was easy to follow. Teaching & support staff exceeded my expectations. Selected 1 on 1 teaching environment not group instructions. As I am an older student, 65+ yrs., I was able to focused better with smaller classes when learning a new language. My teacher, Stephany Vargas, worked with me to develop speaking, reading & writing skills. Would definitely like to return & continue to study Spanish with her in the future..

I had a very good experience at Habla Ya. I took group class and private classes. I took classes with Sergio (the best in my opinion) has excellent methods and conversational style to help students acquire great Spanish speaking skills. He does a great job at motivating students to speak through his conversational prompts and fun interactive games that create opportunities for expression. I also took classes with Victor who is also an excellent teacher in grammatics and Chris who fun to have conversations with and has a really cool and classic "Panama" accent. Ezekiel is another teacher that has excellent interactive activities and really knows how to troubleshoot what students need. At the Bocas School I took classes with Yvette who was excellent in motivating students to talk. She fosters an environment of friendly competition and doesn't allow students to become complacent - And she's super fun and hilarious. All staff were super accommodating and personable at the school site or on excursions. I would recommend Habla Ya to any visitors in Panama looking to acquire/improve their Spanish speaking skills.

A+++

I attended Habla Ya for 1 week with my husband. He wanted to learn because of his work and I wanted to speak to the many people I meet who speak Spanish. What a wonderful week we had. Being immersed in the language helped us to be motivated to keep learning. Baladimir was my teacher he would only speak Spanish to me I thought this wasn't going to work because it has been 50 years since I took Spanish in High School. He was so patient and encouraging he made it fun. Habla Ya arranged for us to stay in the home on a Panamanian which was so nice. Our Spanish improved because there was so much I wanted to say. They also planned activities in the evening so we got a taste of the culture. I definitely would recommend them at what ever level you want to learn.

I started taking Online classes through Habla Ya in September, after taking classes in Panama with them for four weeks during the summer. I'm a student, so both money and time are valuable to me. I was hesitant to commit a lot of both, but overall have been happy and certainly have improved much more than if I had continued "independent study". Habla Ya is always a very professional and well organized group, and that doesn't change with the online classes. Professors with Habla Ya (I've worked with 5 during all my experiences) are also always quality, which also doesn't change with online classes. The professor I've had for most of my online classes, Ezequiel Morales, has been excellent in his preparations and encouragement during class. even when I'm not enthusiastic, he is and he gets the class going. 2 hours can be a long time and he's good about making sure the pace is smooth, that we don't waste too much time, and that the class remains fun. I've also enjoyed him being very eager to ask me how I like the class and his willingness to change class style if I request. As for any down sides: our connection is not always great. 90% of the time it's perfect for what we need, but not infrequently will freeze for a few seconds and 2-3 times I've had classes canceled. I was told this is worse in the afternoon, when I have classes. it's also important to get a class that fits your schedule since they are willing but not always able to change the class times. and Panama doesn't change for Day Light Savings so if you have to deal with that, your class time will change! Online classes are good for convenience of location, but are obviously a compromise compared to in person. Even still, I imagine Habla Ya would be the best online classes around for price and quality, as well as better than many in person classes you could find.

I'm really glad I did Habla Ya! The classes were very interactive and I learned a lot of Spanish very quickly. My teacher Simon was very hands-on and helped me increase my fluency at a great pace. He was very attentive and made class fun! Classes were well planned and incorporated different types of learning. We even visited a coffee shop.

On the first day my spanish skills were tested and I was matched with a teacher who kept me learning every single day. The curriculum uses reinforcement to ensure you retain what you learned. The staff was super helpful with providing information about events in the city as well as places to visit during my time in Panama. Would definitely recommend.

I've been going to the Habla Ya Spanish School in Panama City for about two months now, and it's been great! It's perfect if you really want to learn Spanish without too many opportunities to use your native language. The people who go to school here are mostly interested in learning Spanish to work in Panama, so if you are planning to come here to party and relax a bit I would recommend Habla Ya's school in Bocas del Toro. The teachers and reception staff are excellent and very helpful. They are great resource guides if you want to check out some cool places around the city. Judith has been my teacher and she's great. Very patient and truly interested in helping you learn the language. A great school to learn Spanish regardless of what level your at.¡Ojalá que pueda quedarme aquí por más tiempo!
