Awesome park just outside the city, easy to get to by bus and taxi. Spectacular views of the city and plenty of wildlife to see. Make sure you bring water on a hot day!

A real oasis in the city. Once you forget about the street noise and occasional airplane overhead, you really wouldn't know you are in a capital city. The trails are well maintained with information and occasional seating. As i only had a 24h layover in PTY, I didn't have the time to do all the trails, but you could easily spend 2-4h here and walk them all. The key is to not rush them. Take time and observe, be calm and still. That's when you'll actually get to see the animals.

Great little park located just outside the bustling Panama City. Easy access by bus/metro and plenty of parking. The views of the city are spectacular and its trails are fairly well marked, making navigation pretty intuitive. Chance to see many different plants, insects and animals.

TW: spiders. We were lucky to see many animals on our walk (turtles, coatis & many insects).

Be aware to bring a lot of water, especially if you're climbing to the top with children. It can get very steep.

Absolutely fantastic park, with lots of hiking options. There’re park ranger inside the park, they’re well trained and show you all the animals hiding in the jungle. Entrance fee is also fair, it’s 4$. Bring cash, cos you can’t pay with credit card. Staff will show you all possible hiking tracks.
Don’t forget to bring plenty of water, it could be useful during a hot day.

Nice and cheap park($4 pp) the trails are well marked and maintained, and staff was very friendly.

Trails are not very hard, and it is easy to explore to whole park in just a couple of hours.

Keep your eyes open for animals in the park.

Great experience. The visitor center staff took time with us to suggest which trails to take. The trails were well mark and the facilities well kept. The climb to the lookout area is a bit of a challenge for someone who usually sticks to flat trails but it was worth it. Lots of creatures to see. Bring water, bug spray, and more water.

Amazing opportunity to take a relaxing walk in what feels like a jungle in the middle of a giant city.
We saw Tucans, Silky anteaters, monkeys and a lot of insect wildlife!

great (and cheap) way to enjoy nature right in the middle of the city!!! saw lots of animals (two three toed sloths, a lot of birds, some butterflies, tons of leafcutter ants, one basilisk, one deer, one snake, about two dozen turtles at the lagoon, a couple of agouti (called ñeques in panamanian spanish) i did all of the trails except for the one on the side rode (the momotides trail) it was a very rewarding experience and you can truly feel nature breathing all around you. you also get amazing views of the city, the canal, great for pictures and a bird's eye view of everything. 10/10 recommend no reservation required 4$ for foreigners and 1$ for nationals entrance fee

A relatively easy hike on well-marked trails. $4 per person, and you get a wrist tag. The young man at the entrance office was pleasant and spoke English.
The butterfly house was closed for maintenance (July 1, 2021) but we could see some butterflies flying around inside.
We started on the trail that runs near the road. The first point of interest to me was a small pond, full of turtles. Many of the turtles swam up to the edge of the pond to see us - maybe expecting food?
Along the trails we saw many milli- or centipedes, a gecko, a grasshopper, an untold number of leaf cutter ants - some were carrying tiny red berries, different types of birds, a few monkeys and only 8 other humans;
Flowers, interesting spiked trunk trees, vines hanging low enough to tempt some hikers to swing on them.
The hike lasted close to 2 hours, we were not in a hurry and stopped many times to observe nature and take pictures.
Overall, in spite of the warm temperatures, it was a very nice experience.

Worth a visit. For average to fit hikers you can do all the main trails in two hours, but walk slow to make sure you see the wildlife.

Great place to get out in nature, see wildlife and fantastic city views. Saw turtles, coatis, birds of course and a sloth. Frida and the rest of the team at the visitor center helped lay out the park and picked great trails. Great day!

Rainy season kinda put a damper 😁 on what we did but still a great hike up the trail in the rain. The vegetation and view of downtown Panama was awesome. Saw huge trees, termite nests, a coatimundi, turtles, birds, etc.
