Indra Singh Dev Mall Park

Indra Singh Dev Malla (B.S 1590 – 1605) was the Malla king of Dolakha. The earliest silver tankas of Nepal were struck at Dolakha shortly before AD 1550 by King Indra Singh Dev Malla. The coinage was short lived, and all known specimen are of the same basic design, although there are several minor differences in calligraphy and in other details. All the coins are fine silver tankas and no minor denominations are known.
The inscription may be translated as (Coin) of Jaya Indra Sing Deva, Lord of Dolakha. The design is very similar to certain Muslim pieces with a legend in a square within circle. Other Hindu rulers of north east India had struck coins with a four link legend in Sanskrit and an outer border of dots. The Dolakha coins are however, the earliest Hindu coins we know of that have the legend in a square. Kachar Had copied this design by AD 1559. (Source : - Dolakha Tourism Development Board)
Remembrance of historical king, Tourism Development Board of Dolakha established a park at Bhimeshwor Municipality Ward – 2 Dolakha Bazar Pakhaliti, and positioned statue of legend Kind Indra Sing Dev Malla. “taksar ghar” is still located at Dolakha Bazar and going to develop as museum soon.
