The ideal Community Eye Hospital model is the Hetauda Community Eye Hospital (HCEH) in the Terai region of Nepal - approximately 5 hours southwest from Kathmandu. Hetauda community eye hospital established in 20 Nov 2008, has pulled itself in short span of time into a widely trusted eye health care provider in this part of the country. Being a community hospital it has its own responsibilities towards the community. Justifying its work each single day as a not for profit organization is a challenge which is being overcome each day.
The hospital works with vision of preventing and treating the disease which is full filled via the hospital service, screening program, outreach program, awareness program and different training programs.
Striving for excellence in the services it has been providing is it’s main motive. Working with the limited resources and trying to reach the unreached population for the sight restoration has become it’s regular schedule since establishment. Hetauda also serves as a training site for Tilganga’s Cataract Surgery Training Program. Sub-specialists from Tilganga and other partners visit frequently to provide lectures to existing staff and care to those who might otherwise go untreated because of distance to a tertiary eye center.
Presently, it operates from 08:00 to 17:00 including extended service. However, emergency service is open 24hrs.

There is no good eyes hospital like Hetauda Community Eye Hospital. I have visited many hospitals, but the management of this hospital is excellent. If needed, I would love to do any type of eye related surgery with full trust. :)

Best community hospital ever visited, the hospital staff are very friendly & politie i am visiting this hospital from last 2 years & have always seen the staff smilling although you will see lots of work-load because this place have heavy footfall of patients. Excellent service.
