DO NOT ADOPT A DOG FROM THIS PERSON!!
Babette Van Den Crommenacker, who by the way, gave herself a 5-star review also organizes dog adoption from Greece. This is how we came in contact with her because we adopted a dog which came from Greece but was already in the Netherlands when we got her. Unfortunately, things did not work out with the dog we already have so we reached out to Babette and an agreement was made that once we return her to the foster family we will get the adoption fee of 400 euros refunded. When we brought the dog, we realised we forgot her passport. Therefore, we said we will send it in the evening. When we informed Babetter of this and tried to thank her for the good communication, we saw that she saw our message but did not respond. She also declied our call so we decided to post the passport in the morning after we spoke to her. Unfortunately, we were unable to get a hold of her to have a conversation, it was clear she did not want to speak to us. We said that due to lack of contact we were under the impression she has no intention of solving this matter after we returned the dog we said we are willing to take this further. At that point for some reason the person from the foster family got involved and reached out to us stating that what we are doing is not okay and became verbally abusinve towards my wife. Furthermore, she said that we mistreated the dog and that she is very scared now and they will have to spend a lot of time to get het back to the way she was so that she can be up for adoption again. This we find false because we returned a happy dog to them and we saw the dog wagging her tail when she saw them and she immediatelly started playing with the dog at the foster family.
We saw yesterday that on the same day we returned the dog the add to adopt her was already placed on the same website we got her from. This means that the foster family either lied about her condition or is willing to place a scared dog up for adoption. In the description on her profile it already stated that she was returned once (before us) but it does not state anything about her being returned again or having any behavioral issues. Additionally, according to the Dutch law, the agreement that we made with Babette on the phone that once we return the dog, she will return the adoption cost would mean the purchase of the dog by us would be undone.
It was already difficult enough for us to return her but to see her up for adoption again so soon is really heartbreaking because we really want what is best for that dog. In addition, the organization does not have the right papers to put her up for adoption since they don't have the passport right now. Which means whoever might adopt the dog now, will not know what types of vaccinations she has had already and if there are any that she might need. From our perspective this is not a way to treat a dog.
Yesterday we spent the entire day speaking to the foster family because we wanted to find the solution to this situation. We even oferred to bring the passport ourselves but as I mentioned earlier the woman became verbally abusive towards my wife and there was no indication that they are willing to solve it with us. Therefore, we decided not to bring the passport ourselves as we did not know what would happen.
We are really worried for the dog and other dogs this organization might be putting up for adoption online if this is the way they communicate, treat dogs, and adoption families. We were under the impression that the whole situation became not about the dog and her welbeing but about the money.

We have seen other reviews of people who went through similar ordeal. Some reviews are few years old. It is scary to think how many other dogs and adoptive families have been mistreated the way we have.

ADOPTEER GEEN HOND VAN BABETTERCARE/BABETTERWAY.

Babette Van Den Crommenacker, organiseert hondenadoptie uit Griekenland. Zo zijn wij met haar in contact gekomen omdat wij een hond hebben geadopteerd die uit Griekenland kwam maar al in Nederland was toen wij haar kregen. Helaas werkte het niet met de hond die we al hebben, dus hebben we contact opgenomen met Babette en is er afgesproken dat we haar terugbrengen naar het pleeggezin, en we de adoptiekosten van 400 euro terugbetaald krijgen. Toen we de hond brachten, beseften we dat we haar paspoort waren vergeten. Daarom hebben we gezegd dat we het 's avonds zullen verzenden. Toen wij Babette hiervan op de hoogte brachten en haar probeerden te bedanken voor de communicatie, zagen wij dat zij ons bericht zag maar niet reageerde. Ze weigerde ook ons ​​telefoontje, dus besloten we het paspoort de volgende ochtend, nadat we haar hadden gesproken, op de post te doen. Helaas konden we haar niet te pakken krijgen voor een gesprek, het was duidelijk dat ze niet met ons wilde praten. We zeiden dat we door gebrek aan contact de indruk hadden dat ze niet van plan was deze kwestie op te lossen. Nadat we de hond hadden teruggebracht, zeiden we dat we bereid waren hiermee verder te gaan. Op dat moment raakte de persoon uit het pleeggezin er om de een of andere reden bij betrokken en nam contact met ons op met de mededeling dat wat we doen niet oké is, en zij begon mij verbaal te beledigen. Verder zei ze dat we de hond niet goed hebben behandeld hebben en nu erg bang is en dat ze veel tijd zullen moeten besteden om haar weer te krijgen zoals ze was, zodat ze weer ter adoptie kan komen. Dit vinden wij niet waar, want we hebben een blije hond teruggegeven en we zagen de hond kwispelen toen ze hen zag en ze begon meteen met de hond te spelen bij het opvanggezin.
We zagen gisteren dat op dezelfde dag dat we de hond terugbrachten, de advertentie om haar te adopteren al op dezelfde website stond waar we haar vandaan hadden. Dit betekent dat het pleeggezin heeft gelogen over haar toestand, of bereid is een bange hond ter adoptie af te staan. In de beschrijving op haar profiel staat al dat ze een keer is teruggestuurd (vóór ons), maar er staat niets over dat ze weer is teruggebracht of dat er gedragsproblemen zijn. Bovendien zou volgens de wet de afspraak die we aan de telefoon met Babette hebben gemaakt dat zodra we de hond terugbrengen, zij de adoptiekosten zal terugbetalen een rechtsgeldige overeenkomst zijn.

Het was al moeilijk genoeg voor ons om haar terug te brengen, maar om haar zo snel weer ter adoptie te zien is echt hartverscheurend omdat we echt willen wat het beste is voor die hond. Bovendien beschikt de organisatie niet over de juiste papieren om haar ter adoptie af te staan, aangezien ze momenteel niet over het paspoort beschikken. Dat betekent dat degene die de hond nu zou adopteren, niet zal weten welke soorten vaccinaties ze al heeft gehad en of ze die nodig heeft. Vanuit ons perspectief is dit geen manier om met een hond om te gaan.
Gisteren hebben we de hele dag met het opvanggezin geprobeerd tot een oplossing te komen. We boden zelfs aan om het paspoort zelf te brengen. maar zoals ik al eerder zei, werd de vrouw verbaal beledigend jegens mij en er waren geen aanwijzingen dat ze bereid waren het met ons op te lossen. Daarom hebben we besloten het paspoort niet zelf mee te nemen, omdat we niet wisten wat er zou gebeuren.
We zijn erg bezorgd over de hond en andere honden die deze organisatie mogelijk online ter adoptie aanbiedt als dit de manier is waarop ze communiceren, honden behandelen en adoptiegezinnen. We hadden de indruk dat de hele situatie niet om de hond en haar welzijn ging, maar om het geld.

We hebben andere recensies gezien van mensen die een soortgelijke situaties hebben doorgemaakt. Sommige recensies zijn enkele jaren oud. Het is beangstigend om te bedenken hoeveel andere honden en adoptiegezinnen op dezelfde manier zijn behandeld als wij.
