When I first arrived in the city, I would never expect to end up dining in a Portuguese restaurant (yes, Portuguese, don't let the name fool you).
The food is very tasty, with excellent quality ingredients and a variety of options. Not only is the food amazing, but also the experience dining there. There are different areas in the building, including a bar and cozy dining rooms.
The staff makes the experience truly amazing, they are very knowledgeable of their produce and always eager to explain to you what you are going to eat. And if the owner, Alain, is there, you can spend hours just talking to him. He is truly passionate about his business and will always try to recommend to you the best matching drink for the next serving. But don't worry either if you are not the talkative type, you will receive a pleasant dining experience either way.
It is truly a hidden gem of Deventer, merely steps away from the Brink, in a beautiful street of the old town. Every time I visit the city I make sure to reserve some time to have dinner at this local.

Great service, pretty ambiance. The hosts are very friendly and give you the feeling you are very much appreciated.
We ordered the menu. The foods look very good on the plate and more importantly : taste very good! The white wine that fits good with the fish is very nice!
With the sweet dessert we had a wine which was not too sweet, for the first time in my life I actually liked the dessert wine!

A gem of a restaurant in Deventer, everything we had was delicious and fresh. A family owned restaurant now in the hands of the grandson of the original founder, who has kept true to his Portuguese roots. We could also take our medium sized dog along with us, and were still given a beautiful table inside, tolerant and supportive staff catered to us since the beginning of our experience. Well done, we will be back soon.

Very nice ambient, and very well prepared food. The restaurant is managed by the owner and he is very passionate about the wine and the food.
Each dish has a story to tell, and each wine a journey and a very good reason to be in Deventer.
If I did not know any better I would believe that each dish and wine are actual people with own characters and souls.
Maybe they are?

Not only this place is great, so is it owner and food. The owner has a fantastic story about each wine you take and food you will eat, that he will happily share with you. The food is excellent.. really you should not visit Deventer without visiting this place, you will miss out on some really good food, and hospitality.

Een erg fijn restaurant in het centrum van Deventer.

De sfeer is erg goed neergezet en is knus en vriendelijk. Wij hebben onze wijnkeuze gedurende de avond laten leiden door de gastheer en collega's en waren daarover erg te spreken. De echte ster van de avond is wat ons betreft de chef. Het aperitief, voorgerecht, hoofdgerecht en dessert waren erg smakelijk en zullen er voor zorgen dat wij nog eens terug komen. Als de witte chocolade cheesecake op het dessertmenu staat mag die zeker niet worden overgeslagen. Hetzelfde overigens voor de coquilles met buikspuik vooraf.

Geweldige plaats een avond lang te dineren.
Echte Portugese hapjes en overheerlijke wijn.

Erg leuke sfeer, eigenaar heeft altijd een goed verhaal bij het eten en de drank 😀
Eten is heerlijk, probeer vooral ook de piementos de padron!
