Merici Hotel

I really enjoyed the hotel—the building is historic with interesting features and stories, rooms are beautiful, the lounge and bistro are great, and the direct underground path from parking lot to the hotel lobby was very convenient. The staffs were very kind as well. Only ONE thing that I was quite disappointed at was breakfast. Among the similar level hotels I've been the breakfast was the most mediocre—with no special menu or much variances (quite small and empty). Most importantly, there was no non-dairy options for milk and jogurt, which is almost a must-have these days. The two different kinds of jogurt (one sweetened-fruit taste and one regular) weren't named and look the same, so I had to choose wrong one each time. For such a wonderful hotel, I would've expected much more variances and service (I personally care a lot about breakfast as it's one of the highlights of my hotel experience). All in all, this was a great hotel, and I highly recommend :)

I really liked this hotel. It was at a very nice location and it had good restaurants. Unfortunately I couldn't reserve for the second night as it was already fully booked. Parking was a bit more complicated, but I found a parking lot nearby about 5 minutes of walking at a very reasonable price. Staff was really very nice and helpful. In addition, Sittard is also worth a visit. So it is a good idea to combine the hotel with a visit to Sittard.

We will be back. Amazing place just one thing. Separate the menu. One for lunch and one for a la carte.. it was a bit confusing.

Great hotel, with good size of rooms, with friendly service and good 2 restaurants inside.

Prefect private hotel in the mid of Sittard centre 100 meters from the marketsquare, where restaurants and Cafés and bars are all around. Which is even better is the carparking! Very private approach from the other side of the neighbourhood. Underground, you first pass the normal public parking, couple hundred meters drive will bring you to a gate, and when you enter it, it will give you entry to a very double secure place to park your car near to the hotel underground entry. The reception is very privately to enter this way.

We have beautiful rooms overlooking the courtyard. Every member of the staff has been cheerful and helpful. We arrived a little early, so they put a rush on getting our room ready. We appreciated that very much. They serve breakfast in a beautiful room with large windows. The parking is underground and makes life so much easier in an area where parking is at a premium.

Adorable, gorgeous, unique hotel! They welcome us with such a wonderful atmosphere and hospitality! Definitely recommend!

I would love to have a response from the owner with my review. This as most people know was a convent boarding school. My late mum and her sister were boarded there from Indonesia. So many memories. Myself and family spent many happy holidays there always made very welcome by the nuns. Happy memories

I really liked this hotel. Great customer service and facilities. Very close to the market square. Many close by restaurants and shops but because of the location it is very quiet at night. We had the buffet breakfast and it was excellent.

A nice hotel with a great eye for authenticaty. The hotel knows how to keep the feeling of the old monastery alive and combines this with all the modern necessities you'd expect from a great hotel. Rooms are spacious and nicely styled.

Do ask the staff if you can get a tour through the hotwl. They can tell you a lot about the hotel and show you tons of hidden gems inside and out.

Great Hotel walking distance from the city center. The hotel is located in an old historic building and you can feel it inside. The room as super clean and spacious. We parked in their underground parking place, you pay extra but has direct connection with the hotel.

This is a ver nice hotel to plan your stay. If you look out of the window you will be amazed. Its as if you are living in Hogwarts. The hotel itself used to be a monetary in late 17 hundreds. There is a clock tower near by which keeps on reminding you about the time through the bells. You get to live in an ancient building with all the modern luxury. The hotel staff is super friendly. You will have a feeling as if you are not in a hotel but in your own home. If you talk about the room, its clean and well organised. Would recommend to try this place once. You have the main square near by where you have all kind of shops for marketing and dining. Plus the hotel itself serves breakfast which is delicious and has a lot of variety.

Nice hotel for when I’ve visited on business. Clean rooms, good breakfast and, coffee in the lounge. There is private parking in the garage, look for the Hotel Merici parking sign and keep going to the metal gate. It makes for a very short walk and all indoors!

Everytime I go to sittard I stay in this place. Awesome hotel with amazing rooms. 24/7 reception and friendly staff. The most amazing thing about this place is that it has a underground parking with a direct elevator to the hotel reception. This place I think used to be a church but now it's refurbished into a modern Hotel. Amazing breakfast is also available. From my location perspective it's right in the city centre and close to multiple eateries and restaurants. I also found the Farmers Market in the centre please which is walkable from the hotel.

I was visiting for work and Hotel Merici was an unexpected highlight of the trip! Beautifully decorated hotel, in the vein of a boutique hotel, in a very unique and quaint part of the city. I arrived very late, but the staff was extraordinarily friendly and accommodating. The next morning the included breakfast was elegant but not pretentious and really a great start to a long day of business and travel. I am looking for excuses to return just to go to Hotel Merici!

Staff is very friendly, nice breakfast, the rooms are large and it has air conditioning if it is a hot summer. Also enjoyed all the local restaurants that are nearby at the Markt.

Very nice staff, treated us like celebrities! Surrounding area is beautiful to visit. I definitely recommend this hotel.
