Van der Valk Hotel Venlo

I visited the hotel 1x as a place to sleep and tested everything. The rooms are simple, clean, tastefully decorated. Elegant swimming pool where you can relax. The restaurant is ok. The bar is very pleasant with a good selection of alcohol and snacks. Additionally, I was in the bar itself twice, which was great. sometimes I prefer to come here to a bar instead of going out. The service is always fantastic.

This is a beautiful hotel, elegantly decorated with comfortable rooms and very friendly service. The choice for breakfast was amazing, coffee could be a little better but just add an expresso shot. We ate in the bar and the food was very nice and plenty of it

The hotel is easily reachable by public transport directly from Venlo station and looks beautiful from the outside and inside. The small forest nearby is perfect for an early morning run or walk.
Our rooms were spacious and clean and the included coffee machine fueled my soul for the duration of our journey.
Reception and staff was very nice, only in the gym I wish they had explained needing a wristband a little more proactively as we were trying to use the machines.

One of the most beautiful bars I've seen in my life, clean, beautiful, pleasant. Mateo is the cutest barmen, he is very kind, he makes the best cocktails you have to try, we enjoyed his hospitality. all recommendations 😍

I was not accommodated because the hotel was fully booked!
The location depends on each person's intention. I gave it 5 stars, even though it is a bit far from the center, because it has public transport about 600 m away, with which you can get anywhere in the city! Ample parking, enough power outlets, close to the highway!
I served breakfast!
Due to an unfortunate incident, namely the abnormal operation of the car on the highway, I got to meet three special gentlemen at the reception, around 02.00! After learning that I could not be accommodated, two other possible options were suggested to me.
The gentlemen were very kind and understood the predicament I was in (it was -2 degrees Celsius outside) and then allowed me to sit down to rest and warm up! They also helped me with providing a charger for my phone as it was completely shut down and I needed solutions for the next day!
I served breakfast...all I can say is that I wanted to taste everything but it was very, very much! Before serving breakfast, I explained to the young man at the entrance that I didn't have a reservation, but I wanted to serve something! No problem, pay and serve what you want! Very prompt and without denying me that I am not staying there. Such gesture score 10!
My portion was chosen according to personal preferences, but there were many other specialties: various salads, under different preparation recipes (plain, with mayonnaise, etc.), sausages, fried bacon, 2-3 kinds of omelettes, many kinds of cheese , yogurts, cream sausages, potatoes prepared in 2-3 ways, pasta... Huge! I think it covered all tastes!
Meanwhile I tried to fix the car problem! At 16.00, when I understood that I could not solve the situation, I met two young ladies this time! Everything I asked, then again support for the downloaded phone...I liked the experience, it was actually like I was their colleague who was being helped through the problems and finding solutions: car transport on the platform, possibilities to travel to housing etc.
In conclusion, very nice teams, congratulations from me, you are all a team! 5 stars, without accommodation, I'm sure it's worth it!

We loved this hotel just outside Venlo, it was very convenient to main road thru from UK to Germany but rooms are very quiet. There is a spa with treatments and a (smallish) but very nice pool and amazing stylish and user friendly gym. Rooms are recently renovated in the newer part of the hotel. Free car park. Breakfast was also wonderful. They sell swimming gear if you've forgotten yours!

Nice place to stay, the food was alright, service and staff were amazing! I would love to come back and stay next time.

Excellent hotel just outside Venlo. Next to main road but rooms are quiet. Good value and perfect for road trip stopover. We were on our way from London to Liepzeig. Nice pool and gym. Rooms are recently renovated. Our room was in the newer part of the hotel. Free car park. Do use this hotel if you are in the area. Great sushi restaurant just down the road.

After a long travel day from Canada the front desk service was perfect, the room stunning but the meal I had is where this review should focus
A busy night plenty of staff all busy but not flustered and the meal WOW !
Crab cake appetizer stunning just wonderful and then the Ossobucco maybe one of the best plates of food I have eaten perfect on every bite. An open kitchen and watching your food prepared really underlines what a top quality restaurant this is

Had a great time. Room and Wellness Center were clean. Service was great. Dinner at the restaurant was served very quickly, tasted great, and the portions were big. Probably also one of the best breakfast buffets I have had.

This has got to be the best Van der Valk that I have stayed in, great newly renovated rooms, nice decor, friendly and helpful staff. Kettle and coffee machine in room. Parking card worked and breakfast warm and varied.

I can say the staff at the hotel were very helpful. I stayed for a week while competing at the horse show. I also use a wheelchair and use a service dog and had booked the wrong room for my needs. The front desk helped me switch and made me feel very welcome! Great spacious upscale feel with great food.

Judging from the restaurant, I had a tasty meal served by courteous waiters. The ambiance was good and spacious. With the area the hotel has, for an open parking and a welcoming garden, I can only assume this luxury has been reciprocated throughout. The restaurant can be considered as an upscale dining place which is very well affordable.

A special mention goes to the vodka like bottle in which water was brought! I wish I could've taken it home as a souvenir.

This hotel has recently undergone a massive renovation and now has an entire new 12-story tower of rooms. Works are still running at the time of writing and some parts (like the parking lot) will be finished by the end of 2021, however this hotel offers state of the art accommodations at all price levels for short and long-term stay. Electric cars are welcome with a vast array of chargers. Highly recommended.

Great hotel - excellent location for the motorway, as it is basically just off the ramp. It's always clean and tidy, and very quiet. Superb for travelling between France and Scandinavia. I can usually book using an app just a couple of hours in advance, and they have my booking ready when I get there. Price is extremely good, and there is a great breakfast buffet before you get going again in the morning.

I would like to say that I have had a great time staying at HVDB for the past ten days, enjoying food from the restaurant and breakfast buffet and making regular use of the sauna and lovely pool area. I have found all the staff at HVDV to be friendly and to go the extra mile for their customers. The rooms were large and well equipped and maintained to a high standard - and there was also the irrestistable option to sometimes skip a room clean and plant a tree instead which was very good, along with the more usual option of keeping your towels to reuse again. The hotel's location is walking distance from shops and restaurants, is close to Venlo and a hop, skip and jump from the German border for a spot of country hopping. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and hope to visit again soon.

We've stayed in the new building and it was so great. Big rooms, great design, very comfortable.
People are very nice as well.
