Visited the "Museum Kaap Skil" this morning. It's a nice museum, the staff is nice and helpful. Inside the main building there is a lot to see, outside there is a Windmill, a Forge, a Bakery and Shop, Fisherman's Houses, a Ship's Workshop, a Rescue Capsule, a Beachcomber, a Grain Warehouse, etc. It was definitely worth a visit. The Museum Annual Card is also valid here.

The museum is great and relatively big. If you want to properly go through and read / listen to all the stories, I would say you should allow 2,5-3 hours

Very nice staff and well designed exhibition of the ship wreck contents!!!! Definitely worth a visit. They have kids/family discovery tours, a great outdoors lifestyle exhibition and the translation is organized well! Plan at least 1.5 to 2 hours to go through!

This is a brilliant museum. It tells the history of Texel and The Netherlands commercial and military history so clearly and in a very well laid out museum. The building itself is an architectural work of art.

Best kept secret of Texel. A wonderful museum about the role of the island in the golden age and life in those days. Including many treasures from the deep, an outdoor museum as well, including a windmill.

Absolutely top experience and super relevant to tell the history of the Dutch koloniale trading companies, with the good, the bad and the ugly. Beautiful museum, really well done.

A wonderful museum with both indoor and outdoor exhibits. Expect to spend around 2 hours here if you want to see everything (perhaps more if you read Dutch as not everything was in English). You’ll learn and see a myriad of information, from shipwreck finds, beach combing objects, and historical buildings. Highly recommend!

This place deserves more than a few lines of review. There's a ton of things to see, from old stylish houses, to a barn full of beach collected items, to a windmill that was converted to make electricity on top of milling grain, a lot of information about VOC-era ships and things, artworks and creations by local artists, and a large exposition with found historical items. Lots of stuff for everyone!

Wonderful 3 language(Dutch, German, English) information about the life in the old times, the East Company, shipwrecks and the life at sea. The small, but super interactive museum can impress with the amount of information that the island has to offer for at the very least history, sociology & culture lovers! Wonderful!!!

A fantastic place to look around for several hours. Downstairs they have artefacts from one particular ship that they found. On it was a wonderful wedding dress. I've never seen anything like it!
Outside are larger objects and also the beachcombers shed, which is crammed with items.
A few cafes, shops and a harbour make it a great place to visit.

The museum is well organised, has a nice exposure design, a small but still good souvenir shop. And absolutely great jutten collection in the side garage, don't miss it!

Great experience, I was absolutely amazed with the collection, obviously the silk dress and the wedding dress being the highlights. The exhibition is very well designed, for all senses. It's a must-go, after watching the documentary "de jurk and het scheepswrak".

Lovely indoor and outdoor museum with in the basement a fun interactive exhibition with detailed info about the great Dutch ships and life on the island back in that day. Outside is a more live presentation about life 100 years ago.
Sadly, a part of the museum was under construction, but because of that we got a discount on our tickets. Great experience all in all.

Excellent maritime museum. Basement display has many interactive options, wonderful miniatures of vessels from earlier times and is both interesting and informative. The other buildings, including a windmill, are well set up. Allow a few hours for a visit.

Great little museum, it's bigger than it looks from the outside. Wonderful interactive section in the basement and we particularly liked the houses at the back that showed what it was like 100 years ago on the island. Friendly staff and clean and tidy. Free with the museum card.

I was very surprised by this place! The setup is very nice, with something for everyone. It really gives you the feeling of the part Texel played in the VOC time for the Netherlands. Furthermore, they paint a nice picture of the life in that period in history. The stories are funny and informative and for children there is also plenty entertainment!
