Kasteel Cannenburch

We visited here on a wim and just before Christmas. Tickets are available online or onsite. Lunch can be consumed in the restaurant situated in the old coach house. There were Christmas decorations throughout the whole castle. This castle is impossible to heat so they close down during the winter only opening around Christmas time so that people can enjoy the decorations. There is so much to see. Most of the castle is open to the visitors. The gardens are very beautiful and also worth visiting. These are free to enter.

A great place for family vacations. For children, there is an interesting game throughout the park, but in the Nidelan language. In the castle, children can choose a costume and walk like a princess, interesting exhibitions

Lovely evening at the castle. One of the rare evening openings. Lord and Lady of the castle shared the stories of the past. Very entertaining

Very beautiful place to visit, especially in weekends with family and kids. Nice environment and a restaurant to serve you drinks and foods.

Beautiful location, great staff (gentle, nice and helpfull), the castle and the garden like in a Fairy tale :-)

Charming castle with very well restored interiors. The history of people who lived there is presented through interiors and paintings. The live pictures with the masters of each room are nice. I wish they would speak English. But no worries, the staff will help you and take you back in time with lovely details about items presented. The love story as hologram movie in the attic is must see. The park is great. I saw a few fishermen on the banks of pond. Though haven't seen much catch :).
The only drawback most of the castle is not accessible for people with limited ability to walk and in wheel chairs. The restaurant nearby is highly recommended. Plan 3-4 hours for your visit.

Fantastic. Guides in every room tells all about fun facts of the ages and how it was to live there. Authentic. Very good for children, from 3 years and up.

Super nice small castle. The castle grounds were a delight to walk around and the inside of the castle was also nice. It's pretty small so don't expect something huge, but for what it is it's good. The tiny cafe in the basement of the castle was perfect for a cup of coffee. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Be careful if you stare into the water in the moat... You may time travel a bit into the past!!!

Loved it, the park is picturesque!

Pretty but not very big castle. The castle is surrounded by a moath and there are pretty gardens to stroll through. The restaurant has a pleasant terrace with a nice selection of drinks, snacks and cakes.

I liked it that people were dressed in period custom and pretended to be certain people who lived in the castle. It brought it to life. The garden was also very beautiful to walk in with the rhododendrons in flower.

Was an amazing visit. The castle is well maintained with a lot of information and exhibits. Gave a small glimpse into the past. The grounds are really well maintained and is quiet and green all around. With a lot of trees and plants. Some people even fish in the ponds out here :-)

Beautiful architecture and an amazing garden all around. It's the perfect place to chill with family and friends or just walk around the lakes.

Visited while in Apeldoorn. It's a 10 min drive. You can visit some rooms and the it has a beautiful garden

Impressive. That it what you will be feeling the entire time. Every new door you will open will lead to a new room full of stories. I recommend getting a voice guide thing at the start to help you get more immersed in the experience. You should also take a walk through the garden surrounding the place. Almost no room in the castle is unexporable. There is also a really cool optical illusion somewhere in the building that took a couple of minutes to figure out. Everything about the building is massive. The story of how the castle slowly dwindeld down into decay was made very immersive.

Great place for Christmas Market

Surprisingly unknown but beautiful historic 17th century castle. Roam freely through the restored rooms to take a step back in time.The original roofconstruction and the not-restored room give a nice insight in the design of the castle.

The Castel is really beautiful and you can make a relaxing walk through the park and garden next to it.
