Frümel - vintage design web(shop)

I don't usually write online reviews but Roel Beurskens from Frümel definitely earned this one. I bought a 1960s Pastoe cabinet from them in June 2023 – unseen, based on just a few photos and a video that Roel sent me and the assurance that the piece was in excellent condition. I did hold my breath until it arrived but it was actually true: even though it's over 60 years old, it looks fantastic and almost as new, with only absolutely minimal signs of wear. On top of that, Roel was extremely helpful through the entire buying process, making sure I got exactly the piece that I was looking for (including a swap of one element) and going out of his way to disassemble the unit and packing it in repurposed bike boxes to allow for cost-efficient shipping with UPS from the Netherlands to London, instead of having to use a more expensive specialized shipping company. I really couldn't have wished for more. Thanks again, Roel!

5 minuten fietsen (of met de bus) vanaf het Centraal Station Utrecht vind je alles wat je op het gebied van jaren '50 en '60 design had kunnen wensen (en nog veel meer). Het is elke keer weer een feest om er rond te neuzen en me te laten verrassen, en in tegenstelling tot de meeste andere vintage design-winkels zijn de prijzen erg toegankelijk. (Ik denk dat het gebrek aan reviews vooral te maken heeft doordat men deze parel liever voor zichzelf houdt... sorry!)

Heel leuke winkel, met geweldige vintage meubels.
