Gezana Eritrean Restaurant

We visited this restaurant and had such a delightful culinary experience. The ambiance was cozy and authentically decorated, offering different seating options. If you wish to experience authentic Eritrean-Ethiopian food - then this is the restaurant to go to!!

We ordered Ma Suwa (Eritrean beer), Gored-Gored (beef), Kulwa Keyih-Tsaeda lamb, Baklava (dessert). The dishes were spicy and so flavourful and also served in the traditional style, without cutlery. Eating with hands added a fun and immersive element to this whole experience. They even wash your hands before and after the meal, enhancing the authenticity of the dining ritual.

The service was truly exceptional as well. The staff went above and beyond, assisting us with the order and providing detailed explanations of the dishes. The food surpassed all our expectations, offering unique and beautiful flavors. Thanks to my boyfriend's keen eye, or else we would have definitely missed out on this gem. This was definitely one of the highlights of our visit.

I highly recommend everyone to visit this restaurant - for not just the food but the entire experience of it. Please visit! :)

If you're looking for an authentic African quisine, this is definitely a place to go 👌 The dishes are spiced very good and served in traditional way, which means without cutlery. Eating with hands was fun, and took longer so I got full before the plate was empty. We ordered a vegan dish for 3, but even 4 people got satisfied. It's worth to book a table if you're planning to eat there during weekend. This place is usually full with guests, that's a good sign! Additional entertainment is to observe how coffee beans are being roasted by the members of the service team in the middle of the interior 😎👌

This place serves authentic Eritrean-Ethiopian food in a very cozy setting!
I'm very impressed with the decor, they filled the place with all kinds of objects but it doesn't feel cramped at all, but very atmospheric instead. You also can sit at tables that are more authentic to the experience, as well as more Western tables if that is what you're more comfortable with.
The food was amazing! We chose 2 lamb dishes and a starter and all of the food was full of spices and so flavourful. They also serve quite a few vegan dishes. You have to eat with your hands, and they come wash your hands beforehand (which was also a really neat experience).
The staff was very friendly and welcoming as well. All in all a great dinner, and will definitely come return!

This is a great restaurant to experience the rich Ethiopian Eritrean cuisine. The best part of this cuisine is the availability of amazing vegan dishes with so much variety and distinct tastes. They have two types of vegan plates and my suggestion is to try both if you go as a couple. I have no idea about the meat dishes but i think they are equally good. The coffee is delicious and strong. Overall, a memorable visit to this amazing restaurant.

I was surprised, very pleasantly surprised. I already went in with high expectations but was still surprised. Amazing food, unique atmosphere, and friendly service.

The food was super. We ordered a chicken and a beef dish which came with a unique bread. The combination was amazing. The honey wine was smooth and complemented the food as well.

Really nice restuarant. They wash your hands before and after the meal because you need to eat by hands! That itself was an interesting experience. The staff were really nice and the food was tasty. I really liked the atmosphere and the interior design as well. I had the mix Gezana and enjoyed it.

This restaurant was such a lucky find for us. My boyfriend and I are in Eindhoven for the weekend, and are trying out all the vegan options we can in that time! As soon as I saw the reviews and menu for Gezana, I knew we had to go. The food was all absolutely delicious. We shared the two vegan options and there was plenty! It wasn't just about the food for me, it was about the experience, and I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to everyone I know. I don't know when we will next be in Eindhoven, but we do have family in Amsterdam, so perhaps a day trip could be on the cards next time we go to visit them! Thank you for a wonderful meal and for making our trip to the NL so special.

Hands down the best East African restaurant in Eindhoven! Incredible food, top-notch service, and reasonable prices. A true gem worth discovering.

Well , this is not my first time here , and I love it . Nice fresh healthy food made with good original ingredients.. if You want to visit Eritrea,then this place is where U should take ur boarding pass from .

Great vibe, yummy food, surprising spices, creamy dishes, fluffy injira, and fantastic staff! We felt like being immersed in a great, little universe for the night. The place is decorated beautifully, and the two guys who helped us were very friendly and welcoming. I couldn't have wished for a better service. We wanted to visit this place for a long time but have barely eaten out during the past few years. Recently we had our 4-year anniversary to celebrate and this became the place to do so - the perfect choice! I can highly recommend going here for friends, couples, and small groups who are curious to try a new cuisine or who want a great Eritrean experience. Bonus: gluten-free dishes and injira are available! Thank you, Gezana!!

A really nice place! The atmosphere is amazing and the service is super good. The food was very tasty and also the eritrean beer was surprisingly good! Totally recommend, especially if you are a big group!

The place has a nice ambience and helpful staff. The food was delicious as well. It looked like there weren't enough waiters for the huge place but I didn't feel any delays in service at all. Overall a very nice experience.

I’m absolutely blown away by this place. It was really like traveling to East Africa. I’ve never had such experience here in Eindhoven. The staff goes the extra mile to provide the most authentic experience possible.

We went here with my girlfriends and we decided to order the 3-people platter with surprise choice by the chef. We were so fascinated with the flavors, the presentation, the smile by the staff and the price/quality ratio. They have a big vegetarian and vegan menu as well. The vegan food was so, soooo good. The beef was one of the best I’ve eaten in a while.

Since we ate with our hands (the traditional way), they came to wash our hands before and after eating. Little towels are provided.

The ambience is a whole 10/10. If the word gezellig could have a place, this is it. The lighting is a little too dim for my taste, but I guess that was made on purpose.

Like the detailed person I am, I noticed every single little thing they added to the restaurant and I love it.

Amazing food. We had the vegan mix and the vegan special. Both were served on one plate which made it great for sharing. You eat with your hands and get to wash your hands both before and after at the table. We also had the vegan cake mix, which is a beautifully arranged plate of tasty little vegan and glutenfree cakes. If you wanna try super tasty and healthy food and a new dining experience altogether, then give this place a visit!

We loved the hospitality of the staff and the quality and quantity of the food. Very chill vibe and tasty food. We ordered a mixed menu for 2 people consisting of veg, chicken and lamb options accompanied with the Eritrean mango beer. Will go back again for sure!

Amazing experience, excellent prices. We spent 40 euros 2 people 2 beers, and 2 plates served in one huge plate. They wash your hands before and after the meal. Lot of fun and cozy environment!
