Federal Medical Centre

It is a good place and renovation is going on on some department. Doctors are working. The nurses are doing their best. It is a teaching hospital for the medical students of Achivers university located at Owo.

On drugs patients go outside the hospital to buy drugs. Imagine when doctors procure or prescribed about 10 drugs only two may be available in the hospital.

It may be good for outpatients who may buy outside but not good for inpatients who may go out to buy and come back.

Some hospital equipment are not functioning. The laboratory equipment at times may not work. Patients are referred to private laboratory for test. Inpatients may have to be transported on ambulance to Akure or Ado Ekiti to Afe Babalola hospital or Ondo mother and child or Gani Fawehinmi diagnostic centre . Where patients cannot pay for ambulance they make private arrangements by private cars or public transport.

Some of the doctors have their own private hospital and clinic outside the town.

Patients at time bring in their fan when the ceiling fans are not functioning well.

With the second gate now some vehicles owners prefer to pack outside the gate. The shortest distance is blocked you have to go inside about half kilometre before you can turn. It is not good for those going out to buy drugs and moving from one department to another.

All the ATM machines are not functioning and not dispensing cash. Transfer at times not acceptable.

Federal medical hospital is one of the best hospital I have been to in a while although this quality of service have reduced in recent times. In terms of the people I met during my stay, FMC Owo is the best. It was like a home away from home. Although it could be jam packed atimes due to the volume of people presenting for care, you sure won't miss your chance of being attended to. I love the organisation of the infectious unit...thumbs up

The FMC owó has most medical service you are looking for

They have a fast service rendition but they can sometimes be extortive, they want you to pay for every service they render to you

But in all, it is a good place to get medical services

FMC is quite wonderful and interesting.No harassment from the superior to inferior. The cardiac center where various scan like ECHO, ECG and EEG is found to be interesting with patients coming in irrespective of their condition, cooperate while their test is being done successfully.

It was ok. Its a nice medical facility with lots of departments.

Federal Medical Center, Owo is located along Michael Adekunle Ajasin Road, Owo P.M.B 1053 Ondo State. It was formerly known as General Hospital Owo owned by Ondo State Government before it was taken over by the Federal Government in 1989.

It is a tertiary hospital with different specialty units. It serves the people of Ondo, Edo, Kogi and other South Western States. It can be located from Ikare junction is you are coming into Owo from Abuja-Kabba-Akure Road. If you are inside Owo town, you can easily locate the medical center after the popular Rainbow Junction where Tony Six fuel station is located.

Federal Medical Center Owo has over three well equipped and functional molecular laboratories where different tests that are of public health important are been done. The center is one of the Lassa Fever treatment centers in the south Western region and also has a functional Covid 19 treatment ward.

Federal Medical Center Owo is a hospital you can access medical care which are relatively affordable.

It has an excellent emergency services and you will recieve treatment for the first 24hours without paying a kobo

It's a good place to go for treatment,it's spacious,well ventilated building,adequate equipments and machines and accommodating and friendly medical personnels

They have specialized doctors here who attends to the patient timely... But more hands are needed in this hospital.

Tries to fulfill its obligation as a tertiary health institution however suffers from the malice of publicly funded organisations
