Zonal Hospital, Bori in Ogoni was established by the colonial government in the 1950's as a General hospital. It was upgraded to a zonal hospital a few years ago with the intent of serving the Rivers South East Senatorial district. However, unfortunately it has fallen into disrepair in recent years. The hospital lacks adequate electricity, manpower is grossly inadequate and the buildings and facilities are not well taken care of. A new massive structure was constructed within the premises but has not been in use since completion.
It would be of great benefit to the rural communities around if these areas of concern are looked into by relevant authorities.

This hospital is easily accessible in Bori. It is at the right hand side of the road when coming from runabout to police station.
There are hard-working doctors and nurses who is attending to patience and they have been doing well in times of treatment.
Although, the hospital is not fully equip, we ask that the government should turn their attention to this hospital and equip it as needed, so that it will be a standard suitable hospital that will suit the need of people.
