Oja-Ale

Oja Ale is assumed to be the center of Iwo which serves as the focal point for all activities in the city. It literally houses the City Post Office, Township Hall, Petrol Filling Stations, Supermarkets, Shopping Outlets and Complexes, Phone Marts, Trading Stores, Garages and so on.

Significantly, at the Center of Oja Ale was formally the Iconic 'Soja 'Dumota' sculpture now replaced with the Arc of Triumph Monument or Telu Square, the first of it's kind in Nigeria.

Tribes from all walks of Nigeria can easily be found in Oja Ale. The Hausa, Fulani, Igbo and other community easily mix and go along transacting in their relative businesses. Oja Ale serves as the middle point of a 4 cardinal path; North (Odo-Ori, Agboowo, Ogbomosho, Ilorin...), South (Adeeke, New Garage, Ibadan, Lagos...), West (Kara, Awe, Oyo...) & East (Oke Odo, Olupona, Gbongan....)

A very popular place in iwo. Where you can get almost everything you need.

Everyday is a market day here, just like every big market, all goods can be found here in different shops ranging from foods to clothing to technical materials and many household items. Located very close to oluwo of Iwo palace and also the Iwo city hall. The market is always open early as 6am and closed very late the night.
Oja-Ale literally means night market, but it's always open day and night. It's called night market because it's closed very late in the night, meaning buying and selling still continue in the night.
