It's a well structured building that has brewed a lot of professors and other high ranking officers in the field of Microbiology, medicine and public health.

One of the best departments in Ahmadu Bello University.

It has its motto as ..."Understanding yhe unseen".
This department was formerly under the Faculty of Sciences but is now under the Faculty of Life Science which was newly created.
The department is predominantly made up of female students than male.
If don't like the laboratory odour, then this is not a place for you as they do lots of laboratory practicals here.
One of the main but subtle blessing here is the printing and photocopying centre close by which has greatly eased students stress here.

This building is an enclosure with lecture rooms, laboratories, staff offices a tiny little garden.
