It was an experience like no other. From Marina to Mile 2 in style. No time wastage, no hassle just a cozy 🚆 cool train ride. An interesting view for Lagos from another angle.

First time experiencing the train ride in Lagos and it was great!

The schedules were timely, neat and clean environment, staff were friendly and helpful.

Since it was my first time, I had to get a cowry card which cost 500NGN and then topped up the card to enable me get on the train.

A train ride from Cms to mile 2 cost 600NGN and there were several stops in between.
Overall, I’d recommend and this has gotten to the top of my transportation list in Lagos.

Well done to the state government.

The New Lagos Blue Rail Line is definitely a game changer for transportation within the commercial nerve center of the nation, Lagos.

I know most people will say 'Just give it a few months' and all but its important that we also do our part to maintain this standard and just be happy that alternative transportation means are springing up and this would help with traffic congestion.

I enjoy rides on railway transport and I've been waiting patiently since January for this train to begin operations so you can imagine my excitement when it was launched this week.

Here are random things you should know;

-The ride is N750

The train is automatic and on time. Even if you're right

in front of the train, the doors will close and it will leave

you.

Eating and drinking is prohibited. You will pay N25,000 fine. Yes. There are CCTV cameras inside.

It looks different from the Lagos-Ìbàdàn train but is equally gorgeous. I think it is more beautiful actually.

It is a short trip hence I get why there are no toilets or charging ports.

Loitering is not allowed within the Railway premises. I foresee this as a popular transport option for the masses especially those who have businesses or sell things at Marina.

It is going to be a rowdy ride if you take the evening trip from Marina to Mile 2. The crowd at Marina is intense in the evening. If you can't rush to get a seat early, you will stand. Yes. There is standing.

If you want a less crowded ride, the evening ride from Mile 2 to Marina is a better option. I'm guessing it is going to be vice-versa for the morning ride.

This is the iconic train station of the Lagos blue line rail located at Marina, Lagos Island.....Here you get to experience a first treatment on the new train from Marina to Mile 2 with works in progress to extend to Okokomaiko......To be able to enjoy the train ride, you will need to be privy of the time Marina market people close and go to the market so as to avoid the rush that comes with their presence...Lamata needs to work on the waiting time and provision of sitting areas on their spacious waiting area and some security operative needs to be retrained......

My suggestions to LAMATA is that they should consider waiting until two minutes before the train arrival before asking passengers to tap in so as to control how passengers rush and push each other to enter the train because it has become too difficult for LAMATA staff to control the crowd as people tend not to listen to them.

The ride is an amazing experience especially watching the shores of Lagos from up. Big kudos to LAMATA for the blissful ride experience.
Improvements can be make in the area if ticketing to make it station by station.

This has brought a lot of ease to transportation as many prefer to board the train rather than get stuck in traffic

I love the service station.

This is a Metro train that currently runs from Marina to Mile 2... With plans to get to Okokòmaiko soon, though the target last stop is Badagry.

It's easy to board as long as you have the Lagos state Cowrie card (it's usable for all transportation powered by lasg).

One if the best advantage is that, the train is two so, you can board within 30 minutes... So if you miss one, the next is sure on its way back. And it is consistent and on time.

One of the plus for me is the AC in the hot afternoon, even though the Wi-Fi didn't work.

Two issues this is that, it is quite a distance to CMS bus stop... At least 10 minutes walk. Even if you are going towards Ikoyi, Lekki Ajah etc you'll still have to walk a distance to get to the nearest bus stop. I believe a bus stop for people going to Ikoyi, Lekki Ajah can be provided just under or around the station!

Also, for people who have to go back to CMS, a shuttle should be arranged for that... Though the major issue for this is that there traffic there is one way and it leads away from CMS.

Lastly, there should be provision for parking around or with the station... Because of people who would want to go with the train and park their car.

Nonetheless, it was an enjoyable experience.

Very nice ride on the Lagos Blue line from Marina Station. Clean, punctual, secure, easy to use, enjoyable. Escalators not yet fully functional. Buses are available for connecting to other parts of Lagos.

The station is the Eastern terminus of the new Blue line light rail. The terminal features an elevated boarding platform and is accessible via stairs, escalators and elevators.

Star station for the Lagos Blue Rail line. The mono rail runs from Marina, to National theatre station, to Orile Iganmu station, Suru Alaba station and finally terminate at Mile 2 train station for now. There will be extension to Okoko in near future.

A world class Train station that serves as terminal for the Lagos Light Rail (Blue Line). The Light Rail is on the Marina-Mile 2 route for now and is very fast, efficient and affordable. The Trains are long, comfortable and beautiful. They have the Capacity to accommodate many people at the same time and ease the congested lagos traffic situation. I enjoyed my commute and recommend it for those on the Marina-Mile 2 route.

Considering the system, this is a good innovation and produces swift movement. Complaint was laid and the next time I didn't notice it again.
